In terms of other recommendations and as standard after a format, my personal preferences are as follows:

Adobe Reader v9.3
JRE (Java Runtime Environment)
Adobe Flash Player
QuickTime Player v7.6
ITunes v9.2
Microsoft Office 2010
Nero Burning Rom v10.0
Winrar v3.93
Magic Iso v5.5
Cyberlink PowerDVD v10.0
Norton Internet Security 2010
Azureus Opera

All the above, with the exception of ITunes, are compatible with the x64 architecture of Windows 7. I may have missed some, but off the top of my head, that's basically my list.
With respect to hacking, I can name so many, but It's a matter of personal choice.

The best is to first install the basic stuff, like security and browsers.
I recommed this software:

- ESET Smart Security
- FireFox
- WinRAR
- UTorrent

Then you have security and other basic software.

When i did a clean install a few weeks ago the first things i did were:

- 7-zip (can open iso and rar, etc etc)
- Java
- Adobe Reader
- Adobe Flash
- Microsoft office 2010
- Utorrent
- Adobe cs5
- Itunes
- Norton 360
- ConvertXtoDVD
- Advanced System Care

obviously a lot of these are my personal preference to software, but each to their own :)

Also after a clean install i always install Driver Genius first, to make sure all of my drivers are up to date etc.
