Outage - Omniscient - Apr 12, 2009

Oops...Looks like Easter morning we had an outage starting at 7:30am. It's Easter and not sure what happened but I will look into it. I was out till about 5am last night so I just woke up. :)

So in total about 5-6 hours down. Sorry about that.

These mysql max connection errors are starting to annoy me. I am going to look deeper into it since I think mysql is having a tough time restarting. It's locking and won't die without a kill command. Hmm....

good to hear all is ok.

- Ssgtgman - Apr 12, 2009

I'm glad it's back up, I was like oh shit we're hacked...

- dj mint - Apr 12, 2009

I wondered what had happened :) good to see HF back.

- Dark0ne1 - Apr 12, 2009

Hit it with a stick god dammit

- Hawkins - Apr 12, 2009

Its said "Too many connections" So I thought it was DDoS`ed really. Good to see HF up and running again.

- What Rights - Apr 12, 2009

I was up late too, first time on. I didn't notice.

- Omniscient - Apr 12, 2009

Nah..I still ain't convinced it's not normal traffic.

- Mr Beanz - Apr 12, 2009

Well at least the site is up (for now)

Omni are you positive it's mysql? It just seems quite odd. This has been happening quite a bit lately, don't you agree?

- Omniscient - Apr 12, 2009

Yes and it's mysql locking up after too many connections. Why there are too many connections could be for a number of reasons. I don't have the setting too high so it could be legit traffic. Or it could be a ddos. I have raised the limit and when I have time I will investigate the logs to see what happened when it did lock up.

Thank you for doing this. I was locked out for a whole day once because of the mySQL error.

According to google there's some setting that handles max connections to the database? Just wondering

- JackH - Apr 12, 2009

I thought it was been DDos
