Fix for msn sign in fail issues. - -spider- - Jun 3, 2009 [Msn sign in fail issues possible workaround(s)] The issue that you are experiencing may occur for several reasons. Therefore, the solutions vary. The most common causes are the following: - The stored account or password on your computer's log in screen is incorrect or not updated. This issue applies only to Microsoft Windows XP-based and Windows Vista computers. - Your browser's cache is full. - You entered an incorrect password for your Windows Live ID. For security reasons, Windows Live ID automatically sets a "locked out" period after several unsuccessful sign in attempts. The "locked out" period prevents access to your account even when the correct password is supplied. In this situation, you can reset your password so that you can again access your Windows Live ID. I encourage you to turn off the "Automatic Sign in" feature of Windows Live ID. This feature saves the Windows Live ID name and password. Therefore, you can sign in without having to provide them again. However, the saved information remains the same, even if you change your password, and this could lead to unsuccessful sign in attempts when the information becomes out of date. To turn off this feature, follow the steps below: 1. Disable the "Automatic Sign in" feature for your Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system: a. Click "Start," Click "Run," type "control keymgr.dll", and then click "OK". b. Select "Passport.Net\* (Passport)" in the "Stored User Names and Passwords" window. c. Click "Remove." d. Click "Close." 2. Remove your saved e-mail account and password at Windows Live Account page at https://account.live.com by clicking the "Forget Me" link. 3. Clear the cache and delete cookies. The "Temporary Internet Files" folder store information your computer exchanges with the websites you visited. These files facilitate the communication between your computer and the websites. As time passes, these files become cluttered and can adversely affect communication. The clutter will have to be regularly cleaned to ensure seamless communication. To do this, visit: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278835/en-us 4. If you remember your password, follow these steps: a. On the Windows Live ID sign in page, http://account.live.com, type your password. b. If you are prompted with Human Interaction Proof (HIP) challenge, type the characters that you see in the picture or click the speaker icon and type the characters that you hear. c. Click "Sign In." d. After you sign in, visit all the services that use your Windows Live ID as the sign in name and make sure that the correct password is being used. For example, if you use Windows Live Messenger and you have it set to automatically sign you in, make sure that the correct password is being used. An incorrect password on the sign in screen of any Windows Live service may cause this error message to appear. 5. If you do not remember your password, follow the steps provided in link below: http://help.live.com/Help.aspx?market=enUS&project=LiveIDv1&querytype=topic&query=Accountv1_PROC_SelectSecretQuestion.htm Note: If your account was freezed by an 'msn freezer bot' you may need to contact support and ask them to unblocked your account follow the link below: https://support.live.com/eform.aspx?productKey=wlidvalidation&ct=eformcs [Tutorial written by me/-spider- based on windows live customer support.] - P H O B I A - Jun 8, 2009 Nice.
