[Tut] Increasing Hardware Performance [Tut] - Ramsay448 - Dec 7, 2010 I'm pretty sure someone out there has thought to do this before, but i'll post anyway. This is a great way to improve what you get out of your Computers Internals, Desktop or Laptop. Simply Upgrade the Drivers for your chosen Hardware. For example, I chose my Wifi Adapter, as it is the most drastic change. (Picture may be too big for Browser) Spoiler (Click to View) As the Image says, do not update using the 'Update Driver' Button. You will not get any new drivers. Instead, go to the Producers Website Support page, and find your Drivers, along with other things (BIOS Flashes, Audio, Display, etc.) [warn] Thanks โ * - BigBadSoft - Dec 7, 2010 Why was it delted I don't see anything wrong with it, unless it was infected? * - Ramsay448 - Dec 7, 2010 Not sure ๐ถ I'll ask Saged ๐ง * - unteagle - Dec 7, 2010 perhaps the violating part was deleted? I've read and reread and can't seem to find out myself. * - Ramsay448 - Dec 7, 2010 I have 0% Warning Level ๐ถ Maybe it was an accident, but i'll find out soon. PM'ed Saged ๐ * - -mothered- - Dec 7, 2010 I was looking forward to checking this out, so I shall await for the outcome. * - unteagle - Dec 7, 2010 is that all it is, updating drivers? or was there more to it? * - Ramsay448 - Dec 7, 2010 (Dec 7, 2010 05:50 PM)unteagle Wrote: is that all it is, updating drivers? or was there more to it? Wrote: I really need to update my video drivers but I dont know how to. It is really simple and i think it is much easier to do it manually. Depending on your O/S (i assume you are using windows as O/S) either if you have WinXP click Start->Run... and type dxdiag or on Windows 7 just type dxdiag on the search bar which you see when you open up start menu. Then go to Display tab and you will see your GPU's name. Just google (Name of your graphics card) drivers and you will find a download link to it usually from manufacters site. Manufactuers site is usually the best option to download the latest driver from, but you can download it somewhere else if you find a site that you trust and it seems to be the right one. I highly recommend the manufactuers site because it will atleast work, if not even improve the performance. I hope this helped you. OP: Thanks for sharing, and very weird that your post got reported because if that is all you posted, as far as i can understand it, there is nothing harmful. I did knew this but it's always great to see that member contribute. Cheers, J4mmy * - Vincenzoโ - Dec 8, 2010 GPU whats that lmao ? the device name ? * - J4mmy - Dec 8, 2010 It's a short-term of words Graphical Performance Unit = Graphics card. Did you find out what is the name of it? If so just post it here and i'll give you download link. |
