[GIMP] Easy Text Shadows [/GIMP] - Soulcal - Dec 22, 2010 This is a quick tutorial on how to add a shadow to your text when using the image manipulation program GIMP.
1) Start off by adding your text to the image 2) Duplicate your text layer 3) With the duplicated layer highlighted, go to the top section "Colours" and then "Colourise" 4) When colourising the layer, change the lightness to as low as possible, this will turn the colour of the duplicated text to black, no matter what colour it was previously 5) The image should now look a little something like this 6) Now move your duplicated down in the order of layers 7) With your duplicated layer highlighted, go over to "Filters" then "Blur" and then left click "Gaussian Blur" 8) Set the blur to 5.0 x 5.0 if it is not already at this, it should already be the selected size by default Before - After - * - Ctrl Alt Defeat - Dec 23, 2010 Great guide, just what i was looking for, thanks man. * - Soulcal - Dec 23, 2010 (Dec 23, 2010 07:59 AM)Agemoz Wrote: Great guide, just what i was looking for, thanks man.I will be uploading a shorter and easier guide soon, just found out an easier way 😊 |
