Hardware Hacking / Hardware Security Setup - Tate - Dec 30, 2010 Has anybody done some hardware hacking lately? Right now I'm setting up a system in my sisters pocketbook and her phone that will allow her phone to notify her when she gets too far away from her pocketbook. Recently she's left her pocketbook at a house 2 hours away from her twice, so we're trying to prevent going back a 2 hour drive again. My next project will be a security system in my parents room that detects movement at the doorway and makes my laptop beep, so that I can do "things" with my girlfriend in piece. Please post your recent work or current projects. * - Gabrielix - Dec 30, 2010 (Dec 30, 2010 01:06 PM)Tate Wrote: Has anybody done some hardware hacking lately? I'm terrible with hardware. You should post some educational threads here. * - Automatic Coding - Dec 30, 2010 Why the " of 'things' ANYWAY, no idea but would this not go in hardware instead of hacking? * - Tate - Dec 30, 2010 (Dec 30, 2010 01:11 PM)Gabrielix Wrote: That's actually pretty sweet stuff. I personally end up ghetto rigging everything I do, so I don't think teaching my "ways" would be smart, since there's probably much more efficient ways of doing it. There really aren't enough hacking sections here on HF, and this doesn't really go under hardware IMO. * - Vinegar - Dec 30, 2010 Just be honest - you want her eyes to pop out her head. * - Tate - Dec 30, 2010 I really don't understand what you're getting at. * - Gabrielix - Dec 30, 2010 (Dec 30, 2010 01:18 PM)Tate Wrote: Well if you can get the right tools and hardware you can do pretty much anything. Someone else's hardware (even if it's junky) is always useful. |
