I made a lot of resolutions for this New Year. I'm hoping to convince my dad to stop smoking and do my best to maintain a 4.0 GPA. Usually, people don't follow along with their resolutions, but I've made plans to keep my resolutions as long as possible (all the way till 2017). To make sure my dad stops smoking, I decided to talk to him today about the pros and made sure he knew about the cons of smoking. So far he's not really convinced, but I hope by tomorrow or sooner this week, I'll be able to convince him and get him to go on a "no smoking streak". To obtain my 4.0 GPA, I plan on changing my study habits. No more procrastinating. I already began my to-do lists, and I've accomplished everything I wanted to do today. When school resumes, I hope to pay attention in class and take better notes. One of the causes of my bad grades is due to poor note-taking skills. With better note-taking skills, I hope to finish my year with a 4.0 GPA.

My first resolution of the new year is to recycle. Not only recycling helps in saving some money, It also helps in saving environment as well. I did a little research on internet and I came across some valuable information about the consequences of non-recycling. For example, plastic stays there for centuries and centuries and it turns into a sort of chemical waste that poisons the soil and makes it unproductive. So, I will be recycling many things, including usage of plastic bags and stuff.

PS: Chances are less but If I win....I'd like to have $100 BTC or Gift award.

For my 2016 New Years resolution, I am going to do my best to fix something that has interfered with my life for a long time. Procrastination. I have procrastinated for as I can remember in this causes a lot of problems for me in my daily life. I almost always end up starting huge projects/assignments the night before it's due. I show up late to things most the time because I put off getting ready or leaving early. I miss getting gifts for people on their birthday..these are just some examples I can think of right now.

A couple steps I plan on taking to fix this problem is by creating a daily planner, whether it be on my phone or with an actual type of calendar of some sort. Being able to write out or set a sort of reminder to get started on something or be able to I've heard setting clocks to different times can trick you into getting places at a better time. I plan on continuing to do research in order to learn techniques on being able to time manage much better, and prevent procrastination.

Happy New Year! :)

Well last year was great as it was more of my "learning" period I guess you can say. This year I have a few things in mind that I want to accomplish and I would like to start that off by going to weights. I have already been going to weights for the past 3 weeks, and this year I want it to continue for months and if not years as I think maintaining a healthy lifestyle is very important. Second, I would like to help my family out financially and wouldn't mind working hard in order to get us to go on a family vacation since its been years since we have last went on one and doing this would really relive the stress in all of us. Third thing I would like to do is finally buy all of the parts to my pc to finally build it. My pc is 6 years old and the whole computer alone is worth $130, I'm still surprised it can even run still as it gets 100% cpu usage even when idle lol. I also want to learn how to make music and I have already signed up for courses in my school in order to do this as I really find it interesting. Lastly, my goal is also to complete my AOF course in order to hopefully get a job at a Fortune 500 company and to run a business with my dad and or start cpa and or my ebay business in order to have some extra income on the side. Thanks once again for this giveaway!

This Year Onward I have working very hard. I am currently learning AutoIT to make beautiful stuffs. And giving the studies great importance along with HF . Last year I could not do it well because I became ill and was in complete bed rest for many months. And I was just felt alone to complete my works.
For this my 2016 New Years resolution I will do more work in which I could not succeed in 2015. Although it is very tough to do it. But I am confident that my hard work and practice will make me succeed in the resolution for 2016 for which I am struggling and will continues to struggle till I really succeed into it.
This 2016 is really a very good start which will help me and also the other members to reach their dreams. Which is for sure that It will come and make me happy and cheerful and also others.
Just all needed to do is struggle till I win over it I as I know its going to very hard work in 2016 and their are other stuffs to in which I have to give my 100% to make the victory and will achieve my goal. I will have to work on my work with full devotions. to make dreams come true.

I'm really looking forward to this new year. I like the idea of a "fresh start". Everything that had happened last year is now in the past. It's a new year, new things will happen, and it's a chance for you to take action and do something about it. One of my flaws tends to be procrastination. I always find a way to avoid doing this and that. It amuses me how I put so much effort into avoid doing things that if I put that same effort into doing the work, I would have been finished with it already. With that being said, I plan on getting a lot of work done this year. It's always easier said than done. That's why I like to have some motivation. I like to think about where I COULD be in my life right now if I actually did all the work I was suppose to do. It motivates me to get up in the morning, go through my daily routine, and get to work. The only reason why people get discouraged from everyday work is because they see no progress. It's the little things that you do everyday that counts. All you really need to achieve your goal is dedication and patience.

Here's one of my favorite videos when I need motivation to keep on working:

I think of it like this. Work now, enjoy later. It's always difficult for me to keep that mindset, but I've been changing my habits to get more out of my day. I can't work with a "digital to-do list". I need a real notepad for me to jot down my things to do for the day, do them, and then cross them out.

I actually took one step further and started my resolution a week ago. I've been going strong for a week and a day now, and I can definitely say I've seen improvement and progress. That's pretty much what you need to see to keep on going. You won't hit your goal overnight, but the little things you do will help you reach it.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Good luck to everyone.

Improve my overall wellbeing; smoking less tobacco, eating less junkfood, start working out and training for the marathon for this year. Get promoted at work again (managed to do this last year). Learn Python, C# and ASP. Remove all the bad people from my personal life and be civil with the ones I can't get rid of.

Also wish to lower the amount of smoking bud and drinking spirits as I need to be a bit more aware. Will be learning to drive this year as well which is also very good. 2014 was practice. 2015 was a warm up and 2016 is the real deal.

I know this probably isn't the best or biggest goals but it's honest and is going to play a massive improve on my quality of life, well being as well as the others who are close to me.

~Thanks for contest.

I've been talking to this girl for about 3 months now and never had the courage to go and ask her out, whether it was because I was simply scared of being rejected or unhappy with the way I look I'm not sure but I plan on changing both. I've already enrolled in crossfit with a few friends of mine (Monday, Wednesday and Fridays) so that I can look better and feel more confident. Hopefully this will be just what I need to get the courage to go up to her and ask her out. If I get rejected, hey, I can't say that I didn't try and the fact that I lost weight should dampen the pang from rejection.

Regardless of whether I win this or not, it feels good to tell someone about my goals.
Good luck everyone and I hope you are able to carry out your New Year Resolutions 🤝

This year I'll start again body-building and try to do my best even if I have my left arm paralyzed. I will also start again my blog (http://handicapable.be my blog in French where I tell about how I'm doing the everyday work / life even if I'm disabled) to help people to understand what it's really to be disabled in a daily routine. I'll also finally find people to make the same and write article on my blog about how they live. My final goal is to change my blog on a big encyclopedia of tips to have a better life / easier life even if you're disabled, and even if you feel depressed or just want to give up.

I really want to help people to live happy, even if they recently lost an arm, a leg or something like this. If I was okay with it and I accepted it, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to help people to accept it too. And I think it's a pretty good resolution, and not only a resolution, it's just a prevision, because I already started it 6 months ago, and I'll continue. And I'm sure it will be helpful.

Thanks for your read guys, your contest is very good and different.

What I'm hoping to do in 2016 is to eat right. I've been hitting the gym daily since early 2015, and I've noticed quite the bit of progression, however, my diet was absolute shit. I told myself, for the month of January, I will eat healthy, in hopes that afterwards, I will be motivated to continue eating healthy, which will help with my diet. I started training without any personal trainers, no help, nothing, and I've seen nothing but progression, however, my eating habit is horrible. Eating right may seem like a lame new years resolution, but it seems like I really need to get into the habit of eating right, which is what I'm hoping to achieve this year.

Thanks for making this thread by the way. I am able to express myself and it motivates me more. Haha, good luck to everyone

I dont usually do new year resolutions because you dont wanna not achieve it and then youve failed lol.
But if anything I would say to try and get a full time job. I left college in June 2013 and could not get any jobs, my area there is alot of homelessness and I only just managed to find a part time job in November(10 hours a week evenings till 11:30pm) I live about an hour away from it so I want to get a full time job by the end of 2016 and hopefully its somewhere closer+socialable hours. Honestly I wouldnt care as long as I get a full time job.

Thanks for the giveaway though.
