Piss him off enough and he'll put your home address (if he has it) on your own sig.

Clearly there's a problem. Accounts are hacked, people get bored, blah blah blah but that's common for most forums. But no forum is anything close to the amount of deal disputes we have here. What surprised me the most, is how much administration accepts it as if it is normal. No banning rule, etc.?

Here's my solution: Leak the IP address of the scammer, but keep him unbanned :). This would discourage most scammers from ever thinking of scamming again. It's not hard to figure out the school/workplace of the user, and pretty much f*ck him over real badly once you have his real IP.

Is there any reason this shouldn't be implemented? Thoughts?

There are things called legal policies.

If it's 100% proof they scammed, without a doubt, all on site, it's general a ban.

I've just been told that staff do not get involved in deal disputes whatsoever

HF does not get involved in Deal Disputes.

If a members admits scamming onsite, its reportable. Also if accounts are hacked or potentially hacked you can report it as well.

Your idea is based on the assumption that the IP I have would be helpful to those who are scammed or the overall community in general. I do not agree. Biggest issue is countries with dynamic IPs or mobile providers who assign temporary IPs. There would be almost no real benefit to your idea other than malicious vigilante revenge which I will not condone.
