I'm not sure how much of a choice you have in who you hang out with, but I think it's pretty clear that some personality types are by far more caught up in the optics and mechanics of being in a relationship than they are just being with and knowing different types of people. I guess that's sort of a long way of saying that is sounds like you're hanging out with assholes.
