I updated the synopsis with the most recent one from MAL.
However it appears to be an episodic anime involving an automaton going through many different people's lives and struggles. Been excited about it for a year at least now, and the animation looks incredible.

Will have to give it a watch now, but I always like to give everything a chance storywise as sometimes it takes a few eps to unfold. Without a doubt the animation is top quality though
Just watched the first ep, the story wasn't what I was expecting but still fucking amazing. The animation too is just too damn beautiful.

It was good, wasn't anything above my expectations (at least from the first episode) but still good. Although I feel like all the hype it got is going to do it a disservice and just cause it to be shitposted by kyoani haters even harder when it isn't the next kimi no na wa. They're really going ham with those filters though, not that I dislike it but damn.

Ye probably, but fuck 'em, I'm just glad that my entire year of waiting for this was worth it so far. My only concern at this time is the direction that the story is going to go. Initially I thought it was going to be something similar to Mushishi where its a sort of slice-of-life episodic anime, and it does seem that it might be setting itself up for it, however with the dark undertones and flashbacks I don't think that will be the direction. I'm just hoping that its going to be more than 12 eps ^-^
edit: just found out its only 14 eps :/

Ep 2 not too shabby so far. The anime needs a few more eps to get the ball rolling I feel however. Also not a fan that Netflix has exclusive rights over streaming it atm

Episode three was quite good. It seems Violet has finally worked out how to ghostwrite.

Ep 6 was pretty nice, I'm hoping this is the start of how I originally perceived the series to be where its a bunch of episodic somewhat-slice-of-life-esque storytelling

I saw the first episode and could not wait for the rest of the story so read both the novel volumes.
Pretty good novels but anime of course could not adapt all the scenes so it seems lacking the developments in violet's emotions and how she becomes human cause god damn! she was boring .
