Bump it, find similar threads and see people with similar topics, PM them
You are having a debate with someone and the debate is getting heated in a bad way. What do you do? If you check all my.posts in the appropriate section, you'll see I never get heated, always calm, I mean hey if I get triggered by something online, I'm the one with the problem.

- Try to approach it from a different point of view and possibly attract their attention.

- Turn down the heat. If I can't, I would eventually leave the topic and move on.

- Point the obvious with proof, obviously. Else it's pointless to do it if you don't have proof that your statement is correct.

I would find something similar and work it into another thread or simply bump the thread asking if anyone has any input, for or against it. Depends on what I was talking about. More than likely I'd just let it die though.

Using their argument, I would show that I understand their points and provide a counter argument.

I'm an easy going guy, I love music and art, I genuinely enjoy talking about history, politics, philosophy. Kind of hard to keep up with me, and I can tend to be a space cadet at times.

No.

I'd like to think I'm a panther, but a rat would be the better answer.

Shadows pace across the walls, surrounding a dimly lit path. They appear to be reaching for the setting sun, visible just at the far end. The wind whistles from the top of the wall creating a bellow below.

I'd love to take place in more discussion surrounding topics like, politics and philosophy.

What subject/topic or topics do you enjoy the most and why?

Philosophy is my favorite topic because it can be applied to everything, often holding a deeper meaning, that changes how I think in general.

What do you consider the most important thing of all? What do you value the most?

I value my experiences, including those with people I love. Not sure if I'm referring to my own memories or the emotions tied to them.

If the thread isn't older than one or two weeks I would post in it again to bump it up, other than that I would let it die. If the members aren't interested in it I don't want to push the topic onto them. If I know a few members of the group very well I'd ask them for their opinion on the topic.

I take a break and try to reflect on it from a neutral position. Were my actions right? Was I being reasonable? If it was my fault that the debate got heated I'll apologize and try to explain why I got worked up and how my opinion has shifted since I put more thought into my actions.

I understand that they have different political views and try not to take it personal. I'm not going to try to push "the right" political view onto them as I know that would be useless but I'll show them that there are other viewpoints and that those can be valid aswell.

I provide the facts and actual references that make his claim invalid. Only stating that it's not true doesn't prove anything.

I try to be the best person I possibly can be.

No, I haven't been to any forums or groups that focus on SRPP.

If you could pick an animal that represents you, what would that animal be?
I'd choose a pigeon as they are outcasts, known as "rats of the air" but still very interesting to me. They can fly which is still a big dream of mine, they don't care about others opinions and just live their life as good as they can, even if they have to eat crumbs off of a train station.

You are walking down a path, what do you see around you and what time of the day is it?
It's night and I'm in a forest. I'm walking up a mountain to enjoy the view over a city engulfed in the light of the street lights. Next to the path are old trees, mostly common spruces and a few common beeches, casting strange shadows on the path, only illuminated by the moon.

I'm looking to discuss my philosophical viewpoints with more people.

What subject/topic or topics do you enjoy the most and why?
The subject I enjoy the most is the theory of our existence. How did we get here? Why are we here? What is the purpose of our lives? How should we live our lives? I've talked hours about those topics with my best friend and I'm looking forward for far more as I really enjoy those discussions.

What do you consider the most important thing of all? What do you value the most?
The thing I value the most is my family, especially my "little" brother. I try to spend as much time as I can with them and make every experience unforgettable. Losing my grandparents very early made me realize how important family truly is.

I spent a lot of time thinking about all the questions and I'm very thankful that this recruitment made me think about a lot of stuff I didn't think about in a long time. Good luck to all the other applicants! ✌

1.A I'd ask of opinions on the matter and follow their answers up with various question to get the debate or conversation going.

2.A i'd continue the debate, and focus on way i present my point of view in a way so i don't come off as an idiot nor a troller. if the debate continues to heat up and i see no progression, id take a moment, smoke a cig and come back to the debate with an open mind and hopefully the other part, have had time to cool off, so we can continue.

3.A I'd analyse the comment and take a closer look, If the comment contains an opinion or a statement, i'll reply in a way i see fit with a possible outcome of a debate in this matter.

4.A I'd bring my evidens to the tabel and shot down the persons false statement with solid proof.

1.A I'm a danish student with an attitude that makes some people hate me just by the sight of me. I'd never share false infomation and i'll always do my very best to make people share my opinion and "Point of View".

2.A I've not participated in other online groups or forums. But i do organize one night of the month, at my school named "Debate night" where we come together 20-30 people for 3 hours and debate about recent topics concerning the danish goverment.

3.A An eagle, they're cool as fuck. and it depends only on it's ability to survive on it's own.

4.A I'm surrounded by trees in a forrest but i'm still close to the public street. the weather is nice, some clouds but no rain, temperature is 10-12 degrees. like an october day in Denmark.

1.A I would like to just dawn because we share same intrest in some way. I enjoy debates and have been looking for somewhere to go and share and talk about my and other opinion on different matters. Debating is my drive in a sad world, i use every opportunity to have a discussion with other people. i enjoy learning about others political and religious values in life.

2.A I enjoy social matters, like New feminism Vs old Feminism. I enjoy matters like "When should violent actions be considered criminal" and "What are racism and sexism. and where is line between joke and pure hate drawn.
I've lately been participating in debates about the Zir and zhey pronounces. And wether we should use them or now.
