Take the 250k and use it to do a 20% down, 10/10, 7 year note on a business purchase.
That should buy you roughly a 2.5-3M dollar business.
Average net should be roughly around 1.2M after debt servicing and payroll for a manager to run it for you.

However, some through hard work, some through inheritance, some through means that can't be discussed on here.
