Sui recently also hit the record for most transactions by a blockchain in a single day (65.8 million). As a disclaimer, these transactions were not meaningful, they stemmed from a game, but it did demonstrate that with elevated throughput and network congestion, Sui fees stayed consistent and minimal. Sui also crossed the 1b transactions threshold in mid August.

Earlier this week Sui launched zkLogin, which paves the way for on-boarding more web2 users into the web3 space, without the requirement of handling your own keys, thus lowering the entry barrier for less tech-savvy users.
In their latest blog post, decentralized trading without wallets, BlueFin announce their v2 will be launching on Sui and will be built on top of zkLogin.
Unfortunately I think we're in a moment of the market where the best technology may not matter as much. The market has become so diluted with scams that unless you're already a well-known and trusted brand, that whatever promises your technology offers, it's not going to move the needle on adoption. Maybe I'm wrong on that or maybe it's just temporary.
I think your gamification statement is legit though that a day will come where throughput for a massive mmorpg will matter. When will it happen, impossible to say, but even more impossible is knowing which blockchain will be used.
I also think that whatever blockchain is used for gamification, will require that it's super cheap. The overall ecosystem might be worth billions but transactions will need to cost fractions of a penny and if the token value goes too high it will actually hurt the gaming ecosystem. That's my conclusion about seeking value from these blockchains targeting gaming. Same applies to blockchains that want to be storage. If the value is too high, the storage utility is untenable.
SUI seems like solid project though.

Sui charges a storage fee along with gas fees when a transaction creates an object on the network. That storage fee goes into the Sui Storage Fund, which uses a staking mechanism to compensate network operators for maintaining on-chain storage. This design takes into consideration that operators may join and leave the network at any time, maintaining the fund in order to support operators who join after the objects they store were created.
As with all networks, unused files and other artifacts accumulate over time and take up an increasing amount of drive space. When the available storage space becomes fully used, service and performance degrades. On Sui, increased storage demands mean operators need to increase their storage capacity to ensure a performant network.
Deleting an object from Sui, such as an expired DeepBook order, frees up the space the associated objects occupied. Because storage fees are charged up front and for the life of an object, Sui returns 99 percent of the original storage fee as a rebate in SUI tokens. Storage fees on Sui are very low, so the rebate for a single deletion is correspondingly low. Although the transaction involved in deleting an object incurs a gas fee, in many cases the storage fee rebate exceeds the gas fee, resulting in a net positive outcome.

Kinda happy I didnt buy this on launch. I will buy it eventually but right now the price is falling and it looks like the bottom hasnt been hit yet. Cool project though, just a tough market right now.

It did drop behind those overall but I'm sure it'll do just fine as it's newer compared to other chains like Waves, Aptos, etc
