[TUT] - Making Files and Folders Invisible with CMD - zer0pwn - May 5, 2011 ~ - Hiding Files with CMD - ~ Hey, guys. Today I'll be writing a tutorial on Hiding files with CMD. First, I'll explain what this does, and how hidden this will be. Once you've "Hid" your file, it will be impossible to access, unless you know the File name, or perhaps basic knowledge with CMD. Alright, let's get started. I suppose everyone knows how to open CMD? Probably if you're reading this. So now, Open CMD. Find the Directory of the File (Or folder) you would like to hide. Once you've done that, type this into CMD "CD DIRECTORY*. Ex: CD C:\Acer\Hacks Hit enter to Execute the command. Now, once you've done that, type "attrib *FILE OR FOLDERNAME +s +h". That will make the File completely invisible. Ex: attrib Binkyp +s +h Now the File, or folder should be invisible. If you're having trouble with this, just re-post and I'll make sure to add some images. Now to reverse it, so you can make your file Visible again. Repeat the process, but instead of "+s +h" do "-s -h". That's all there is to it. Great for school if you have any Folders you'd like to keep secret, along with what it contains. * - GreenEnergy - May 5, 2011 we don't need two threads about this but got work for your first thread✌ * - zer0pwn - May 5, 2011 Yeah, I had posted it in Beginner hacking.. And then realized I probably should've posted it here, so I haven't removed that other thread yet... Lol, thanks. xD * - thanh_hoai00 - May 6, 2011 nice tut thank you very much !!! * - Dbof - May 6, 2011 This is so simple to bypass. Just change folder options and unhide system files. You could use SecretConverter to hide the contents of a folder: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=239844 * - zer0pwn - May 6, 2011 Sorry, but nope. I didn't use the foolish "Hide-File" option. Nice try ;) * - RussianFederation - May 6, 2011 Good tutorial. Thanks OP. * - zer0pwn - May 6, 2011 No problem ;) Glad you liked it. * - badjoras - May 6, 2011 Very nice, didn't know this. I didn't use the foolish "Hide-File" option. Nice try ;)Yes you did, indirectly, you changed the attributes to hidden instead of right clicking it, and so on. The other user was correct, but this is still a great and easy way when you need to hide multiple files. |
