Fonts, get good ones, try not to have too many as it will slow down your system and take you forever to find what you're looking for.

Tutorials, follow them to develop your understanding of photoshop mechanics and tools. Then develop your own style.

Find inspiration and try to "replicate" what they've done.
This doesn't mean rip off their work or style, but find something you would like to have in your pieces be it an effect, a color scheme or a kind of technique and try to learn and be able to reproduce it into your own works.
