[Black Hole]

Before you post your very first work, check out these helpful links to get a head start on your graphics!

Resources, Get lots of them, get good ones.

A few good resource links:

https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=1439277 - Blaze's Render pack
http://www.mediafire.com/?x2zztdyymwn kiki's stock pack
http://inkresources.deviantart.com/art/S...-127647714 +Ink's render pack
http://inkresources.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d23altd +Ink's Font Pack
https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...ource+pack <-- +mK's Resource Pack
https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...ource+pack <-- So Fucking Gay's (Classy's) Resource Pack

https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=1763103 <-- Fundude's resources
http://gfxforums.net/thread-oxygen-da-resource-pack <-- O2 Resource pack (gfxforums.net)

Fonts, get good ones, try not to have too many as it will slow down your system and take you forever to find what you're looking for.

A few good links:

http://www.dafont.com/ <-- Tons and tons of fonts.
http://www.abduzeedo.com/ <-- Look for Friday Fresh Fonts
http://inkresources.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=0 +Ink's Resource pack page, lots of font packs.

Tutorials, follow them to develop your understanding of photoshop mechanics and tools. Then develop your own style.

A few good tutorial links:

https://hackforums.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=69 <-- Hf's graphic tutorial section.
http://sigtutorials.com/ <-- Great place to learn some basic signature techniques. (very basic)
http://psd.tutsplus.com/ <-- Great place to learn a myriad of artistic and photoshop related things!

Find inspiration and try to "replicate" what they've done.

This doesn't mean rip off their work or style, but find something you would like to have in your pieces be it an effect, a color scheme or a kind of technique and try to learn and be able to reproduce it into your own works.

A few good inspirational links:

http://abduzeedo.com/tags/daily-inspiration <-- Tons of inspiration from multiple sources of art.
http://shadowness.com/ <-- A great place to find inspiring art from a myriad of personal artists.
http://www.deviantart.com/ <-- Good place to put your own works as well as browse for inspiration.
