Spybot or Super Anti Spyware? - Will and Integrity - Apr 3, 2012 Which do you prefer, and why? I just installed SB: S&D and it seems nicer that SAS. * - FZ4NZ - Apr 3, 2012 Neither.. I run with malwarebytes.. However back in the day I ran with S&D * - Will and Integrity - Apr 3, 2012 (Apr 3, 2012 12:11 AM)XSSane Wrote: Neither.. I run with malwarebytes.. I run Avast, SP: S&D, Comodo, Keyscrambler, and have a few Anti-Viral tools. Paranoid? Maybe. Secure? I hope so. * - FZ4NZ - Apr 3, 2012 Yeh.. I hear ya.. I run Avast and Comodo as well... Not heard of keyscrambler though.. And of course for emergencies the big guns... ComboFix * - Bridge - Apr 3, 2012 I prefer neither, I use to use anti's but I realized that getting infected is your decision. Analyze anything you do and choose wisely and you will never be infected. * - Chillae - Apr 3, 2012 (Apr 3, 2012 12:13 AM)Brood Wrote: I run Avast, SP: S&D, Comodo, Keyscrambler, and have a few Anti-Viral tools. If you get infected with something that has anti keyscrambler it turns off (well, that's what some anti's do to it), so you know something is wrong. And if it stays on your pretty safe... OT: I would have to say... Super anti spyware? I have used it a few times and it seems pretty good. I also think it is recommended by some of the HJT team members. * - SuaveSalmon - Apr 3, 2012 I run nod32, malwerbytes, spybot, I check with Comodo sometimes, and infested cleaner! * - Will and Integrity - Apr 3, 2012 (Apr 3, 2012 12:19 AM)Chillae Wrote: Keyscrambler is great, I have it as well. I wish I had the pro version. But yeah, most of the programs I have are more precautions, rather than removal. If one isn't working, or more than one, something is wrong. * - Villiska - Apr 3, 2012 It's honestly about preference. Spybot Search and Destroy in comparison to SuperAntiSpyware is like Ketchup compared to Mustard. It's what you like better. Both of them do their jobs efficiently along side your Anti-virus. However, if you do not have Malwarebytes, I'll have to definitely state that Malwarebytes is the top dog in the trio. One of the two you mentioned though, are definitely a good addition to a trio of Malwarebytes and your Anti-virus. You can also use Ad-aware and HitmanPro. Hell, if you're paranoid enough you can run all of them considering they're on-demand scanners. Will they work? Yes. Are they worth it? Not really. You have to realize that for 99% of people, what you get on your PC is from what you roam around the internet and pick up yourself. It's very rare that someone actually targets you and tries to infect your machine so until then, I think you could suffice with a common AV and Malwarebytes as your backup. That's just my preference though. I personally use Comodo's suite with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware as my trio. Hope I gave a good bit of input, have a good night. :) * - Rikko - Apr 3, 2012 1 Anti-virus it's better then 2 Anti-virus :p.. Try this: Microsoft Security Essentials or AVG with Malwarebytes anti-malware and COMODO Firewall. Now You are good protected. You can also download the big files like Bitdefender etc. * - CPAManager - Apr 3, 2012 I prefer Spybot Search and Destroy, because it scans very fast and allways find something if there is a virus.. I havent yet tried Super Anti Spyware, so i cant say anything about that. * - DJMODZ - Apr 3, 2012 I really do enjoy SAS as it finds some stuff that Malwarebytes doesn't. On the flipside, I do get annoyed with it finding all 'cookies' as tracking data. My Setup:
* - How High - Apr 3, 2012 Go for Eset Nod 32. Never had any problems with it :) * - Cores - Apr 3, 2012 I just use Malwarebytes Anti-malware. Works great and picks up just about anything * - Will and Integrity - Apr 3, 2012 (Apr 3, 2012 01:25 AM)Rikko Wrote: 1 Anti-virus it's better then 2 Anti-virus :p..Lol both of these Anti-virus' are a joke. |
