Haruyuki "Haru" Arita is a short, fat boy who is constantly bullied at the Umesato Junior High School which results in him having exceptionally low self-esteem. To escape the torment of real life, he logs onto the school's Local Network where he plays squash by himself and always gets the highest scores. One day, he checks the squash rankings to find his high score beaten by Kuroyukihime, the popular Student Council Vice-President, who invites him to lunch the next day. Here Kuroyukihime introduces Haruyuki to Brain Burst, a secret program that is able to accelerate the human cognitive process to the point at which time appears to stop. Haruyuki soon learns that Brain Burst is more than just a program, but a Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online (VRMMO) Fighting Game where people fight each other in fierce duels in order to obtain Burst Points which can be expended for acceleration abilities in the real world. Kuroyukihime then enlists Haruyuki's help in reaching Level 10 within Brain Burst by defeating the "Six Kings of Colour" to ultimately meet the creator of Brain Burst and learn its true purpose.

The story in Accel World is in my eyes amazing. I wasn't really going to pick up Accel World but i heard that it was similar to SAO and i gave it a go. Not once have i regretted that decision.

This series got everything. I've laughed, i've been sad and i've had the feeling that i just had to watch the next episode. There isn't really too much i can say about the storyline without spoiling too much. It's simply amazing.

The animation. Oh my god. This series got everything from robots to pigs. The animation is amazing and by far one of the best i've seen so far. Cute girls, fights and guns. The animation is crisp, and perfect. There is details everywhere and you'll always find something new if you're trying hard enough.

You've probably seen a anime or some kind of dub where the sound simply doesn't match the character or the song doesn't fit the scene. This is NOT the case in Accel World. The sound is something that i find very important when it comes to most anime and Accel World didn't let me down.

There is also a lot of people that cares about the endings and openings. The opening in Accel World is one of my favorites of all time and you probably won't be disappointed if you decide to watch it.

There are so many unique characters in Accel World. The plot isn't about a few persons within a short timeframe and you'll be able to see a lot of different characters in Accel World. The two main characters is incredible. They're unique and their personalities fits the story so well. If there was anything i could change about the characters, i wouldn't change a thing.

Overall i've given Accel World a 9.5 out of 10. The reason i haven't given it a 10 is simply because i find it almost impossible to find something perfect. There is probably no anime out there that will get a 10 from me simply because everything in the anime can't be perfect. 9.5 is incredibly close and i feel that the anime deserves this score. I've had a great time watching this anime and i really hope that some people that read this will pick it up and watch it aswell.

"Dubbed Trailer" - I watched the subbed version tho.

Great review I loved it. The Dub looks promising I don't know why. Already watched it as well.

* - Astrixz - Jun 5, 2013

I liked the review too I also enjoyed watching Accel World. The dub though... it doesn't fit the characters.

* - Kenji Harima - Jun 5, 2013

Its a good anime, I hope they continue it though. Still a lot that has to be done in it. Short descriptions, but good overall review.

I'm halfway through but I put it on hold. It's not a bad show but the main character just annoys me. He's really whiney.

* - Programmargorp - Jun 5, 2013

I personally hated the anime .__. Gave it a 4/10.
My main reasons :
- Pacing was screwed, the second half was dragged on for WAYYYY too long.
- Main character is too whiney
- Filler right in the middle of climax
- etc.etc.

The art was decent, and that was what saved it from being rated a 2/10 from me.

To be honest though, the only reason Accel World isn't as good as Fail Art Online is cause they screwed the pacing. I do personally think that Haruyuki is better designed than Kirito though.

Will try it, probably marathon it in the weekend or something

I liked accel world, but giving it a 9.5/10 is just way too high.
Nice review anyways.
