Hackforums Member KingJason Arrested - Complex_ - Mar 20, 2014 Since I know a lot of you don't read the league of legends section I figured I would post this here. He basically sold a service that allowed you to get the IP of pretty much any player in league of legends. He also did stuff back in 2013 such as selling user account info, etc. Here is his profile : https://hackforums.net/member.php?action=profile&uid=2196396 Official news report: http://www.computerworld.com.au/article/540972/queensland_police_arrest_man_allegedly_hacking_us_gaming_developer_site/ + a picture of what he was currently doing when arrested http://mypolice.qld.gov.au/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Computer-hacking-image.jpg Quote:Queensland Police Fraud and Cyber Crime Group have charged the man with three counts of computer hacking/misuse and five counts of fraud, including dishonestly obtaining property from another person or company. RIP * - Chеese - Mar 20, 2014 Always sad to hear when a member gets arrested. I wish him all the best of luck and hope none of the charges stick. From what I gather he wasn't the most loved member of HF but all points aside, no one deserves jail time. * - ~Jay~ - Mar 20, 2014 I bet the people he was messaging on Skype are flipping out over this. * - JackPackage - Mar 20, 2014 I misread" 21-year-old alleged man". * - Act. - Mar 20, 2014 Wow this kind of stuff makes me scared and wanna leave HF. Im maybe me addicted into these kind of stuff because I really like doing these stuff its like a drug for me, I maybe end up in jail::( <33 * - Vanilja - Mar 20, 2014 Dam, that's one nice laptop. Well well, You get What You order. * - Complex_ - Mar 20, 2014 It's funny in the pic to see a memdump tool + a can of freezant just incase he tried to shut off the computer. * - Vanilja - Mar 20, 2014 (Mar 20, 2014 03:20 AM)Complex_ Wrote: It's funny in the pic to see a memdump tool + a can of freezant just incase he tried to shut off the computer. What memdump does? Also why he need freezant? * - Complex_ - Mar 20, 2014 Because he was selling user info, I would expect him to probably face a lot of charges. My best guess, if he doesn't go to prison, he will be banned from using the internet for probably 10+ years (based on previous similar crimes), or something along that. He didn't really do much to cover himself up. * - Zabuza - Mar 20, 2014 Wow, I wish him the best of luck. I think we can expect for him to be getting the black hatter award sooner or later. * - Complex_ - Mar 20, 2014 (Mar 20, 2014 03:22 AM)saixen Wrote: What memdump does? The memdump tool dumps his ram. You dump the ram mainly because things like truecrypt, and other forms of crypto programs are useless if feds are able to dump your ram. The freezant is if he turns off his computer. If his computer is freshly turned off they can access the ram and spray the freezant on the ram (ram stays on for up to a solid minute after shutdown), and allow them to dump it. Article about this http://www.zdnet.com/blog/security/cryogenically-frozen-ram-bypasses-all-disk-encryption-methods/900 * - Cubez - Mar 20, 2014 He lives about 1 hr away from where I live (Driving) ;) * - Ifinger - Mar 20, 2014 Only lives about 2 hours drive from me. He was silly for getting caught. He should of been more cautious. * - Barrage Tax - Mar 20, 2014 I rarely post on HF, But my thoughts go out to Shane, Hes a nice guy and I really hope he makes bail and doesnt get prison time. Good luck wherever you are bud and hope for the best. I hope you remember the advice I gave you after last time. * - Vanilja - Mar 20, 2014 (Mar 20, 2014 03:24 AM)Complex_ Wrote: The memdump tool dumps his ram. Ah yeah, now I remember someone was talking about this. Basically if he just turned off he's computer they could perform cold boot attack? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_boot_attack |
