Hackforums Member KingJason Arrested

Since I know a lot of you don't read the league of legends section I figured I would post this here. He basically sold a service that allowed you to get the IP of pretty much any player in league of legends.

He also did stuff back in 2013 such as selling user account info, etc.

Here is his profile :

Official news report:

+ a picture of what he was currently doing when arrested

Quote:Queensland Police Fraud and Cyber Crime Group have charged the man with three counts of computer hacking/misuse and five counts of fraud, including dishonestly obtaining property from another person or company.

He is due to appear in the Maryborough Magistrates Court on 8 April, 2014.

The charges follow a search of the man’s property in November 2013, where police seized laptops and a hard drive for forensic examination. Police also received assistance from the FBI and the US gaming company.
RIP
Always sad to hear when a member gets arrested. I wish him all the best of luck and hope none of the charges stick. From what I gather he wasn't the most loved member of HF but all points aside, no one deserves jail time.
I bet the people he was messaging on Skype are flipping out over this.
I misread" 21-year-old alleged man".
Wow this kind of stuff makes me scared and wanna leave HF. Im maybe me addicted into these kind of stuff because I really like doing these stuff its like a drug for me, I maybe end up in jail::( <33
Dam, that's one nice laptop.
Well well, You get What You order.
Now I know what you meant when you said you will lose something valuable.
It's funny in the pic to see a memdump tool + a can of freezant just incase he tried to shut off the computer.

What memdump does?
Also why he need freezant?

Because he was selling user info, I would expect him to probably face a lot of charges. My best guess, if he doesn't go to prison, he will be banned from using the internet for probably 10+ years (based on previous similar crimes), or something along that. He didn't really do much to cover himself up.
Wow, I wish him the best of luck. I think we can expect for him to be getting the black hatter award sooner or later.

The memdump tool dumps his ram. You dump the ram mainly because things like truecrypt, and other forms of crypto programs are useless if feds are able to dump your ram. The freezant is if he turns off his computer. If his computer is freshly turned off they can access the ram and spray the freezant on the ram (ram stays on for up to a solid minute after shutdown), and allow them to dump it.

Only lives about 2 hours drive from me.

He was silly for getting caught. He should of been more cautious.

Ah yeah, now I remember someone was talking about this.
Basically if he just turned off he's computer they could perform cold boot attack?
