How to stop people from cracking programs? - ProtectNull™ - Mar 22, 2014

I wanted to share a program to HF but the only thing i worry about is people try to decode the program for the APIs etc.

Does anyone know how to prevent this?

Thanks.

It's rather hard to protect your program from being cracked.. You can obfuscate it to make the job harder but you wiill have very little luck protecting it.

u cant stop them . what u can is make it harder

If you don't want people to decompile it, don't share it.

Don't share it, otherwise make all the functionality (including API's) be hosted on a server, not in the actual program.

I want to contribute to the community, how can the other programs here can't be decoded then?

As hypothesis, no program can't be cracked. Even Microsoft ( who created windows ) has its windows cracked.

So the only solution is to make all sensitive values on server side.

Look into obfuscating your software.

If someone or some group wants to crack your program hard enough, it will be crack eventually. The best you can do really is just make it longer for the program to be cracked.

Hell, even Tony Stark's technology can be hack....

the best way to protect your program from being cracked is to learn cracking :D

As specified, if someone tries enough they will eventually get it. But to protect it from people who only knows how to open your assembly in a decompiler, you can obfuscate your program. This will scramble different things of your code to random strings making it very hard to make out what it says.

Well, these days, even people who only know how to open an assembly in a decompiler knows what a deobfuscator is... If you want to get some protection from these guys, you can modify a open-source obfuscator cough confuser cough
