The only way to change your public IP address is to call your ISP and request a new one or totally unplug your router for sometime (can be 2 minutes like it could be 4 hours or a whole day) and then plug it back and hope that your ISP will have assigned you a new IP address. * - xinvity - May 19, 2014 (May 19, 2014 07:55 AM)Aurа Wrote: The only way to change your public IP address is to call your ISP and request a new one or totally unplug your router for sometime (can be 2 minutes like it could be 4 hours or a whole day) and then plug it back and hope that your ISP will have assigned you a new IP address. So just leave it unplugged for a while? Will that most likely work? * - Aura - May 19, 2014 (May 19, 2014 07:59 AM)xinvity Wrote: So just leave it unplugged for a while? Will that most likely work? Yes. If it doesn't work after 5 minutes, leave it unplugged a bit longer. * - lmx04zq - May 19, 2014 Yep, what Aura said. You can use IP chicken to monitor changes in the address. * - xinvity - May 19, 2014 (May 19, 2014 08:02 AM)Aurа Wrote: Yes. still doesn't work. any alternatives? * - Aura - May 19, 2014 (May 19, 2014 12:03 PM)xinvity Wrote: still doesn't work. any alternatives? Thank you for your time. is the ISP lenient with changing IP's? or will he be conspicuous about why I am doing this? * - Aura - May 19, 2014 (May 19, 2014 12:21 PM)xinvity Wrote: Thank you for your time. is the ISP lenient with changing IP's? or will he be conspicuous about why I am doing this? Some ISPs will change it without asking questions, but most of them will most likely ask you why. Well, why do you want to change your IP Address ? |
