[Read] Please post in the right section instead of the WHH section - Aura - Jun 24, 2014 Hey guys, Aura here. In this thread I'll rant about something that has been annoying me for quite some time now. Well, not really a rant but I want to tell you about something in this section that quites upset me and make this section a real mess. What bugs me is people that post and ask for help for every problem there is in this section. YES, this section is probably the most helpful section of the Computing area, it DOES NOT mean that you have to post ALL your problems in it, learn how to post your problem/question in the RIGHT section. Let me explain what I mean by that. The White Hat Help section is a section dedicated to assist people with : malwares, protection, security, and everything that touches the White Hat domain. This section IS NOT to post and ask your questions about EVERY Computing domain there is. If you are getting BSOD, you can't install a program, you can't connect to the Internet, your RAM is failing, etc. then your thread DO NOT belong in the White Hat Help section. Your question/issue is NOT "White Hat" (malware, let's say) related and obviously not related to the security or protection domain. Hence, you should post your thread in ANOTHER section, the RIGHT section for your question/issue in order to receive the most reliable assistance there is. Right now, around 70% of the threads posted in the White Hat Help section DO NOT belong here and should be posted in other sections. Here, let me show you :
It doesn't seems like there's a lot of threads that do not belong in this section, do you want to know why ? Because I report at least 5 of them, if not up to 10 everyday for "Wrong section" and they get moved in the right section. But I can't always be there to do that and I shouldn't have to do that, and nobody in this section should. I'm not blaming people for asking help on HackForums or in this section, I'm just saying that you're asking help in the WRONG section for YOUR current issue/question, that's it. Now let me tell you HOW it should be, where each threads should be posted :
These are the sections wheres about 70% of the threads in the White Hat Help section should be posted. Of course, there's still the Virtual Machines section for anything that is VM, Virtualization, etc. related and the Web Browsers section for all your questions about web browsers, but I don't see a lot of threads posted here that belongs in these sections (of course ads pop-ups - adwares -, browser hijackers and etc. belongs in the White Hat Help section and not the Web Browsers section as this issue is malware related). Same goes for the GNU/Linux, FreeBSD and Unix Flavor as well as the Smartphone, Mobiles, Apps, and SDK and Apple Mac and OS X sections. In the end, it's really simple. Just learn how to post your threads in the right section for your question/issue. Not only it will help us keep a very clean White Hat Help section but it will also create activity, the activity that there should be in the other sections and it will allow YOU, YOU to receive the best assistance there is your YOUR issue, the best answers for YOUR questions. Yes I know, the White Hat Helpers here are very good, but sometimes, they don't know everything about everything. Most of the time, if you have an issue that is hardware related, an Hardware Helper of the Hardware section will provide you with better assistance than a White Hat Helper here. So please guys, learn how to post your threads in the right section. It's the basics of knowing how to use and post on a forum (knowing where the post your threads) and it will also reduce the numbers of reports the Staff receives as they're already working very hard to keep that forum clean, so doing this will give them a small break and remove a load from their back. If you are NOT sure of where to post one of your thread, always feel free to send me a PM and I'll tell you exactly in which section it belongs, alright ? 🙂 And for those whose threads are posted here, I'm not mad, upset, etc. against you, don't worry, I even assisted you all I think 😝 I'm just using them as a reference to explain my point, alright ? 🙂 For any questions or comments about this, feel free to post here or send me a PM. /endrant * - eiqhtz - Jun 24, 2014 Aura don't you understand they're so eager to talk to you? OT: I agree. Hopefully everyone can understand. Hopefully none of my posts were in the wrong section when you and Maltricks helped me. * - T e s s e r a c t - Jun 24, 2014 This is true. There are many posts that do not really belong in this section such as the one that was moved 2 minutes ago to the Networking section. People will post here regardless because they need help and it is included in the White Hat Help section's title. * - Aura - Jun 24, 2014 (Jun 24, 2014 06:29 PM)Luminesca Wrote: Aura don't you understand they're so eager to talk to you? I report around 20 threads, across all the sections I'm posting in, for "Wrong Forum" and they get moved in the section they belong. * - Troye - Jun 24, 2014 (Jun 24, 2014 06:31 PM)Aurа Wrote: They can always send me a PM, I don't bite 😝 That is a lie Aura, you bite me all the time. 😭 * - Aura - Jun 24, 2014 (Jun 24, 2014 06:33 PM)Sin Wrote: That is a lie Aura, you bite me all the time. 😭 Just because you're telling me lies via PM about you riding a lion in the sunset 😟 * - Troye - Jun 24, 2014 (Jun 24, 2014 06:34 PM)Aurа Wrote: Just because you're telling me lies via PM about you riding a lion in the sunset 😟 You were asking me stupid questions and lied about it not being a forced conversation... like everyone else who PM's me. We don't get a lot of threads here that are OS X/iOS related, fortunately. But when we do, they are legitimate as they're asking for malware removal assistance under OS X as well as what is the best Antivirus for OS X and etc. * - Hunting Rifle - Jun 24, 2014 (Jun 24, 2014 06:56 PM)Aurа Wrote: We don't get a lot of threads here that are OS X/iOS related, fortunately. Many of them must post in the apple sections then... * - Aura - Jun 24, 2014 (Jun 24, 2014 06:59 PM)Hunting Rifle Wrote: Run jRAT remover and done. Yeah they mostly post in the OS X section and I've only seen what, one or two threads for malware removal in the MRT section ? I don't even know if they provide assistance for OS X, I think not. So in the end, it's down to the OS X Helpers and White Hat Helpers to assist these users. * - Cyber Saint - Jun 24, 2014 I agree most certainly, Aura. I created a thread of similar nature in the Mac section a while ago due to the same problem with iOS related things being posted there. This needs to be stickied. |
