[Question] Does the original OmniCoin Wallet (OMCv2) still works ? - Aura - Dec 16, 2014 Hey guys, Aura here 🙂 So I just opened my OmniCoin Wallet (OMCv2) after like ... months of leaving it on my desktop. Usually, when you're out of sync, it starts sync'ing to update the network, right ? Well mine is sitting at "0 active connections to OmniCoin network". I was wondering if I have to change some addresses in the configuration file or if it was discontinued. Thank you. * - clark.dll - Dec 16, 2014 I'm having the same issue myself. I'd love for someone to weigh in. * - Aura - Dec 16, 2014 (Dec 16, 2014 09:40 PM)Clark Wrote: I'm having the same issue myself. I'd love for someone to weigh in. I guess we could just ask Aceman, as he's part of the OMC Team I guess, or knows about it. * - Aceman - Dec 17, 2014 I'm not part of the OMC team, I just happen to know a lot about cryptos and OMC. 😝 So long as the wallet you're using was downloaded AFTER the released of OMCv2 then you should be fine. The team updated the nodes and ports which could be why you're not getting any connections to the network. Try updating your Omnicoin.conf file to what I have below; Code rpcuser=userIf that doesn't work let me know, you have me on Skype. 🙂 Edit: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4433369 * - Aura - Dec 17, 2014 (Dec 17, 2014 10:26 AM)Aceman Wrote: I'm not part of the OMC team, I just happen to know a lot about cryptos and OMC. 😝 Looks like I don't even have that file anymore, where is it supposed to be ? * - Aceman - Dec 17, 2014 (Dec 17, 2014 10:31 AM)Aurа Wrote: Looks like I don't even have that file anymore, where is it supposed to be ?It should be in %AppData%\Omnicoin\omnicoin.conf Unless you have it saved on an external harddrive like I do. It would depend on where your data directory is. * - Doctor Blue - Dec 17, 2014 I'd like to stress that only the two first nodes are active (and necessary) and the rest of the lines are unnecessary. Those lines should be enough. Code addnode=192.99.42.164* - Aceman - Dec 17, 2014 (Dec 17, 2014 10:43 AM)Doctor Blue Wrote: I'd like to stress that only the two first nodes are active (and necessary) and the rest of the lines are unnecessary. Those lines should be enough.I wasn't aware that only those two are active. You guys should update the wiki page as well then as it's listing all 4 currently. https://github.com/Omnicoin-Project/Omnicoin/wiki/Installation-Instructions * - Abraham Lincoln - Dec 17, 2014 (Dec 17, 2014 10:46 AM)Aceman Wrote: I wasn't aware that only those two are active. Hope that stops confusion. * - Aura - Dec 17, 2014 Issue solved, reinstalling the OMC Wallet since it seemed that the installation wasn't correct. Thank you to Aceman and the others, thread closed. |
