Javascript IS NOT java! - 3 Hunna - Jun 4, 2010 I know i barely have any posts but i have been around here for about two months and i see that many people keep posting javascript questions in the JAVA forum. Frankly the only things that Java and Javascript have in common is that they both have "Java" in their name. In my own words, Java is an object-oriented programming language while JavaScript, on the other hand, was created by Netscape as a scripting language much like a client side version PHP. It cannot create stand alone applications, but instead resides on an internet browser. Javascript is a scripting language. Hence the name Java"SCRIPT" Java is a programming language. If you need help with Javascript then i'd recommend you go here: Website Construction You're almost guaranteed to get a response like this: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=440212&highlight=javascript RATHER than this(Zubb's post, in particular): https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=440212&highlight=javascript. If anything here is wrong please dont hesitate to tell me i am always open to criticism. And i dont even know if this is the right forum to post this in 😶 * - 0x45 - Jun 5, 2010 Wow..genius..lol.. i hope everyone knows that. * - i3urn - Jun 5, 2010 I Agree It gets Annoying when ppl are asking How Do i Build a Javascript Injector Or somthing they would Be Better off posting some were Else lol * - 3 Hunna - Jun 5, 2010 (Jun 5, 2010 01:30 AM)Xin R Wrote: Wow..genius..lol.. i hope everyone knows that.Lol i wish they did but it seems like they dont which is why i made this thread👍 * - Zubb - Jun 5, 2010 This will teach them not to post Javascript help xD Thank you for mentioning my post :P There is a little error though, the same link is repeated in the last two xD * - Marxist - Jun 5, 2010 Well said. Too bad people will always get the two mixed up or whatever. There will always be that one person who does it. D: * - i3urn - Jun 6, 2010 lol The Skiddies Need To Learn To Code. Javascript Takes like 1 Week to Learn Java takes Years + To Master They Will allways Been Posting Sht like "I Need Help With My Java Code" When Its Javascript or "I Need Help With Javascript" * - 3 Hunna - Jun 6, 2010 (Jun 5, 2010 04:33 PM)Zubb Wrote: This will teach them not to post Javascript help xD Haha i guess i forgot to change the link. Unfortunately we cant edit threads for a day after theyre posted but its been 2 days i dont get it. * - 3 Hunna - Jun 11, 2010 hopefully by now you all know that javascript and java arent the same :D * - Champloo11 - Jun 11, 2010 (Jun 6, 2010 12:24 AM)i3urn Wrote: lol The Skiddies Need To Learn To Code. to master? Javascript can be just as devious. The more advanced the coding, the more javascript tends to be harder on the party of pure undocumented goodness oh and cross-browser dependencies. * - Therion - Jun 11, 2010 To give the thread a lil' bit more meaning, the name JavaScript was chosen due marketing success of Sun's Java platform to this time - prior to this JavaScript was called 'LiveScript'. This makes it even more clear that there is no true relation between both languages, except that both have their similar syntax which is originally from BCPL. Edit: I edited my post, you're right it was not called ActionScript - my mistake. * - Ben121 - Jun 11, 2010 (Jun 11, 2010 04:56 PM)Therion Wrote: To give the thread a lil' bit more meaning, the name JavaScript was chosen due marketing success of Sun's Java platform to this time - prior to this JavaScript was called 'ActionScript'. I thought ActionScript was used for flash? According to wikipedia Javascript was originally called Mocha, then LiveScript, and then finally Javascript. But thanks for bringing it up as I think it's important for people to know the history of things like this. * - Champloo11 - Jun 11, 2010 (Jun 11, 2010 05:00 PM)Ben121 Wrote: I thought ActionScript was used for flash? You are right there, Actionscript was based on Javascript, but js was never really connected to actionscript in any other way * - Joseph Ducreux - Jun 12, 2010 this thread should be stickied * - 3 Hunna - Jun 13, 2010 (Jun 11, 2010 05:00 PM)Ben121 Wrote: I thought ActionScript was used for flash?ill edit that in when i get on a computer.just wanted to help java newbies(i am one kind of) |
