My 5 Minutes Experience with Internet Explorer - CodeBinary - Jan 5, 2015

I knew IE was trash but when I actually went to use it... How do untechy people even use? So my summed up story is: I cleared out my pc's hard drive reinstalled it chrome isnt installed use internet explorer to download my usual stuff and 4/5 of the websites I went to didn't support IE so I was like f it on fifth website and quickly went to chrome... I just thank god that google.com supports IE or wed be screwed.

Which websites doesn't support Internet Explorer? Which version of it were you using?

If you're truly that allergic to Internet Explorer, you might want to look into ninite, Chrome enterprise/offline installer, Firefox portable, or if you're really desperate and don't have much space, wget.exe

IE suits my needs whenever I reformat and reinstall. I don't like to use it as my primary browser, but it's not torture.

The latest versions of IE aren't actually that bad to use. You just have to use it and get used to something different. Almost every single site you use will work just as well on IE as any other browser. The problem you have is that you're bringing outside bias to your 5 minute experimentation.

Try it and only IE for one full week. You'll probably find it inadequate compared to something like Chrome, but at least then you will have given it a fair chance. I'm also certain you'll realize it aint as bad as people often say.

My web dev self cringes at saying that. Developing for legacy IE browsers is a serious pain in the ass.
