Laptop won't start up - Joy - Mar 21, 2015 When i was starting my laptop. It started updating and then it restarted and now it says that "Windows is getting ready. Don't turn off your computer." I left it open for like 4-5 hours and it still won't turn on. This has happened 2 days ago too and it had opened after 2-3 hours. Can someone tell me what has happened. Its Windows 8.1 if that helps. * - Null Byte - Mar 21, 2015 (Mar 21, 2015 07:21 AM)Jopy Wrote: When i was starting my laptop. Also, can you boot into safemode? * - Warren Buffett - Mar 21, 2015 When you say it had opened, do you mean it has turned on? * - Joy - Mar 21, 2015 (Mar 21, 2015 11:27 AM)Null Byte Wrote: Do you have the Windows installation CD? My laptop had come with a windows 8 at first (genuine) and then i updated it to Windows 8.1 when i was prompted to do so by my laptop. * - Warren Buffett - Mar 21, 2015 Now that you've updated us with an unclear post of what's going on, tell us exactly what is happening right now. * - Joy - Mar 21, 2015 (Mar 21, 2015 07:49 PM)Warren Buffett Wrote: Now that you've updated us with an unclear post of what's going on, tell us exactly what is happening right now.My pc has loaded now (I mean now i can use it) it took like 5-6 hours. It's not frozen on the updating screen anymore. * - Warren Buffett - Mar 21, 2015 (Mar 21, 2015 08:14 PM)Jopy Wrote: My pc has loaded now (I mean now i can use it) it took like 5-6 hours. Windows upgrades don't tell you a specific time mainly because it takes many factors into consideration which therefore spits out a percent. * - Joy - Mar 21, 2015 (Mar 21, 2015 08:23 PM)Warren Buffett Wrote: Does it take 5-6 every time when you start it up? Well it took at lot of time all the 3-4 times. Almost 4-5 hours on an average. I had to shut it down sometimes and restart again and again and finally it would open after a long time. * - obviouslyracist - Mar 21, 2015 (Mar 21, 2015 08:30 PM)Jopy Wrote: Well it happened 3-4 times in the last 3 days i reckon. I think Null Byte might knows what's wrong. You should PM him and wait for his response. Good luck. * - Warren Buffett - Mar 21, 2015 (Mar 21, 2015 08:30 PM)Jopy Wrote: Well it happened 3-4 times in the last 3 days i reckon. Well it took at lot of time all the 3-4 times. Go to the search bar and type in msconfig 2. Startups tab 3. Tell us what you have enabled on that list. * - Joy - Mar 21, 2015 (Mar 21, 2015 08:35 PM)obviouslyracist Wrote: I think Null Byte might knows what's wrong.
