Plugged in but not charging [Laptop] - Gucci - Mar 31, 2015 Alright guys, so I have a Samsung notebook. About 2 weeks ago I noticed a "plugged in but not charging" after my laptop wouldn't stay on without being plugged into the charger. I'm currently at 8%, and it'll continue decreasing. My question for anyone who's dealt with this is, once it hits 0% will the laptop not turn on, and completely stop working? I've looked into the issue, although I have windows 8, I've tried the method to fix the device manager and it didn't work so I'm assuming my laptop battery is shot, I just have to order a new battery. I think there about $15 via. amazon. Any help would be useful, thanks! * - Doctah - Mar 31, 2015 Your laptop battery is dead. Your computer will fail to work without it being plugged in for long. * - Gucci - Mar 31, 2015 (Mar 31, 2015 11:47 PM)Tex Wrote: Your laptop battery is dead. My question is once it reaches 0% will it not work at all (even when plugged in) I just don't know how long the battery shipping will be. * - Doctah - Apr 1, 2015 (Mar 31, 2015 11:57 PM)Gucci Wrote: I keep it completely plugged in, as-is, if it's not plugged in it won't work. It will. Laptops will operate without a battery, I dropped mine in water and went without one plugged in for like a month while I decided whether or not to go and get one. * - PizzaPops - Apr 1, 2015 Your battery is dead. Remove your battery, plug your laptop in and boot it up. If it runs, then it'll still work when it's at 0%. You do need a new battery though. * - 10010010010101 - Apr 1, 2015 Your battery is dead my friend. Get a new one. * - Gucci - Apr 1, 2015 (Apr 1, 2015 12:16 AM)PizzaPops Wrote: Your battery is dead. Yea I'll attempt that tomorrow, It's a "slimmer" notebook so I gotta unscrew the bottom piece in-order to reach the battery. Thanks for the feedback. |
