Question about hooking laptop up to display - clark.dll - May 17, 2015 Lets say your laptop supports the max resolution of 1920 x 1080, but you external monitor supports 2560x1440. If you hook up your laptop to your monitor, what will the resolution be? If you hook up your laptop to your monitor, what will the resolution be? My laptop is a lower resolution than my monitor yet the monitor automatically adjusts the signal. It should re-adjust with yours too. The setup is so that I have a laptop on a stand with the monitor next to it, both acting as one screen. Even if I have the monitor to display alone, it still adjusts perfectly. * - clark.dll - May 17, 2015 (May 17, 2015 01:10 AM)Autocorrect Wrote: My laptop is a lower resolution than my monitor yet the monitor automatically adjusts the signal. The laptop should adjust its signal to the monitor, to the monitors resolution. It'll look like you connected a desktop basically. * - archangel.dmitry - May 17, 2015 As far as your GPU supports resolution recommended for the monitor. * - Aesthetics - May 17, 2015 (May 17, 2015 01:06 AM)Clark Wrote: Lets say your laptop supports the max resolution of 1920 x 1080, but you external monitor supports 2560x1440. If you hook up your laptop to your monitor, what will the resolution be? Depends on GPU and output. You will need to use HDM 1.3-4 or DVI Dual link or DP/Mini-DP if you wanna use that resolution. |
