Archive Member Agreement Wrote:I, Realizm, agree that I may not open other member's Student Program Training Threads. Nor will I discuss the contents of my, or other members, SPT questions with anyone. By breaking these rules, or other rules set by group leaders, will result in my removal from Archive and a permanent blacklist.

Why you joined Archive?
I joined to contribute and see what the group had to offer. I knew xadamxk would do something with the group to really try and contribute to HF and I wanted to be apart of that.

How you feel about learning site policy?
I'm fine with learning more about the site policies. The more I know the better.

How much you already know about site policy?
I feel like I know most of the HF's policies fairly well, though if I am ever confused or forget something then I look it up.

Hahaha yeah I just noticed that we have quite a few Writers in here as well xD

Yes I understand the rules and feel very comfortable using those resources, but are we allowed to use other sources such as the Help Docs? Even though some of it is fairly out dated, a lot can at least be taken from it and is more "official" than a non-authority member's thread such as an Ub3r

* - Realizm - May 31, 2015

Oh sorry I was camping this weekend and was only on my phone. I recognized the threads except for this one but wasn't sure if it was just my phone not loading the page or something with bad service lol.

Everything you need to know about Hack Forums

^Not working and I realize why now that I quoted your post xD

I will be sure to answer all of the questions on my computer from now on and point out anything I find wrong or ask questions as I come across things 🤝

Question 3
What is a user title on Hack Forums?
How do I edit mine, under what conditions?
And what are the default user titles?

I know but you said make it like we were actually helping somebody lol. I can either let you keep the training wheels, or help you to take them off 😝

What is a user title on Hack Forums?
A user title is a title under your username that you can see on every post. Upgraded members can change this user title to anything that fits within the Hack Forums guidelines/rules/regulations/policies.

Example (Click to View)

How do I edit mine, and under what conditions?
Only upgraded members can edit their user titles. You can learn more about upgrades here and here.

If you are upgraded, then you can follow these quick and simple steps to edit your user title.
  1. Click on User CP at the top of the page.
    Example (Click to View)

  2. Scroll down and click on "Edit Profile" as shown in the example below.
    Example (Click to View)

  3. On the right hand side of your screen you can fill in a blank space with any user title you desire.
    Example (Click to View)

  4. Remember to click "Update Profile" at the bottom of the page when you are done or the changes will not be saved.

What are the default user titles?
[nobody@HF:] - 0 posts = It's literally a guest account. The group itself is not in any privlilige
[user@HF:] - 50 posts = Regular user with basic permissions such as read, write, and execute.
[bin@HF:] - 250 posts = It's basically a symbolic link or also known as "symlink" or "shortcut".
[www@HF:] - 1000 posts = It's a symbolic link which is short for "world wide web".
[bind@HF:] - 2500 posts = Bind is a shortcut for berkeley internet name daemon and is used when implenting the DNS (domain name service) protocols.
[ssh@HF:] - 5000 posts = SSH stands for "Secure Shell"
[root@HF:] - 10000 posts = root is equal to UID 0 aka super user.
[gawd@HF:] - 25000 posts = /dev/null
[exiled@HF:] - Banned

Also, 3p1c should be orange, because they can't be white xD

Question 5
What do the following terms (relating to HF) stand for/ mean?
  • "OP"
  • "RF"
  • "PM"
  • "PP"
  • "SRPP"

Oh, yeah I was going by the username color xD Hahaha yeah... I mean not horribly, but colors definitely mix for me and certain shades of colors look the same like black and a darkish purple lol.

  • OP Description:
    • OP, short for 'Original Post', is the first post on a thread. It will always be marked as #1 in the top right hand corner of the post.
      Example (Click to View)
  • RF Description:
    • RF, short for 'Repfuck', is when an Admin member removes all positive reputation from your profile leaving only the neutral and negative reputations.
  • PM Description:
    • PM, short for 'Private Message', is a messaging system built in to Hackforums. The system is very similar to emails, but on-site so nobody ever has to know your private contact information.
  • PP Description:
    • PP, short for 'PayPal', is an online transaction handler. You may link your credit/debit card and/or bank account to your personal PayPal account in order to buy and sell things online.
  • SRPP Description:
    • SRPP, short for the Science, Religion, Philosophy, and Politics forum. In this forum, you can discuss any of the four things listed in it's name. Debates often take place in this section.

Prestige is a statistical number created by a mathematical formula based on your member stats. An exact formula is still unknown and has yet to be released. Though if you are interested, the user xadamxk has created a thread solely dedicated to finding the formula and has gotten the calculations down to a maximum of 3 numbers off from your actual prestige. You can find the thread by clicking here.

Oh my bad, that's an official quote from it lol. I didn't even think to link it and idk why either...

The HackForum's Twitter: https://twitter.com/hackforumsnet

The HF Twitter is used for updates, news, and anything Omniscient sees fit to tweet about. You can find the official release thread here.

Members can go to the Buy Awards page to donate for an award. Simply follow the steps provided and you will receive your new award automatically once the payment has been confirmed. You can read more about awards and donating for them in the Help Documents located here.

If a member wishes to privately donate with nothing in return, they must send a private message to Omniscient.

* - Realizm - Jun 3, 2015

I try going to it and it just shows up as a 404 error page. I thought it had been removed... maybe I need to delete my cookies.

EDIT: Yeah, it's working now lmfao. And just when I thought I was on a role for doing good lol 🤦‍♂

How many posts until a thread is 'hot'?
A thread is considered a 'Hot Thread' once it receives 100 or more posts.

How many posts until a thread auto-closes?
Threads do not auto-close. Omni will not add this feature as there could be tutorials, helpful threads, etc.
