Hey guys it's -Hyperion ✌

I am currently a technician for a fortune 500 company and running my own pentesting business. As well as leader of the Brotherhood Computing Sector, also known as BHCPU.

This will go hand in hand with the other helpdesk located Here and will give recommendations on security setups to use such as AV's and firewalls.

First come first serve, and please only take advice from people listed in this post.

Hi there,
I have been referred to you through the forums as I have a Macbook and maybe you can help with the removal of a RAT?? I will copy you my original post to see what I am up against :) Any help you can over would be much appreciated and am happy to compensate you for your time.

Hi there,

I thought I already posted this but here goes for a second time.
I have an ex girlfriend who seems to have gained access to my MacBook and/or my Iphone. These include my email, Facebook, Skype, email and Ebay, further the programs on my Iphone 6 including complete access to Viber.

I have repeatedly changed passwords including my login access on my Mac. She seems to have access to all my information - blatantly telling me whats going on in my life and who I am talking to, how much I paid for things on Ebay even when the programs are not running - quite honestly its a little scary. I am not looking to hack anyone just stop what she is doing.

Any ideas on this and any remedial action?

Thanks

This is way more serious then a piece of malware.

Report her to the police for Privacy Breach, Stalking etc.

This actually sounds exactly like what a RAT would be able to do, and I have known a few girls that would do this sort of thing. The issue is you are on a MAC and there are not many RAT removal tools for MACS. Your BEST option is a factory restore. No joke.
Steps:
1: Factory Restore MAC computer.
2: Delete and do not open any email or pdf document you have from her or her friends in the past
3: Change Apple - Icloud password
4: Change all other passwords - make them different this time so you know which ones are breached if it does happen
5: Do not ever let her use your computer or phone, again.
6: Factory reset your Iphone - and I mean FACTORY Reset.
7: Only install apps from trusted websites this time around.
8: IF you want to try to go for removal instead of Factory Reset which I highly advise against as this is a MAC. You can always get "sophos" which is a free MAC anti virus tool. Ensure that if you go to download sophos you do it from their website, I would post a link but I need 50 or more post to post links so sorry :P

Let me know how it goes.
Best of luck - WhiteHatDragon

Dear OP, thank you for your service.

OS(32 or 64bit): 64bit
Payed or Free: Free with paid alternative.
What you currently use: Just MBAM Premium. I know it isn't antivirus...

I'd like something that light on resources and still kick ass. Also, what firewall would you recommend?

I would actually forgo the MWB premium and just do weekly scans. I would recommend for free Qihoo Internet Security as for payed and light on resources I would go for Emsisoft.
