Does anyone else live in a metropolitan area? - [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅5̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] - Apr 6, 2016 I have lived "downtown" of my city for about a year or so now. I plan to move out of the city as soon as my lease for my apartment is up. My biggest issue is parking- unfortunately my apartment does not have any remaining parking available as the parking garage used is completely filled. I was just curious if any other people live in big/dense cities and what their opinion is of it? I've always wanted to live down here but it's really just too hectic for me. * - Vipеr - Apr 6, 2016 I live in one, it's alright but the parking can get annoying and so can the neighbors depending where you are. * - justg - Apr 6, 2016 I live on the outskirts of a small-ish city (About 200,000 people) Our parking is fine. Actually not too bad for a city. * - ๖ۣۜZero - Apr 6, 2016 I life in a small town and always dreamed of living downtown in a big city and being surrounded by skyscrapers and having everything you need in walking distance. * - [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅5̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] - Apr 6, 2016 (Apr 6, 2016 01:08 PM)Vipеr Wrote: I live in one, it's alright but the parking can get annoying and so can the neighbors depending where you are. Yeah. Parking is the biggest bitch. I hate paying for meters so I try to park in the un-metered areas. Unfortunately most of the ones closest to my apartment are always taken so I normally have to park about a block or two away. I've lived on the outskirts of a big city as well... the city I'm living in actually. The parking wasn't nearly as bad as the "downtown" area. I used to be that person. Until, I chose to actually move down here and now I wanna move back to my small lil town :( * - Vipеr - Apr 6, 2016 (Apr 6, 2016 01:13 PM)[̲̅$̲̅(̲̅5̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] Wrote: Yeah. You'll know when it usually is empty and when it really gets packed. Mine's open around 5pm and once it hits about 6 everything is full. * - [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅5̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] - Apr 6, 2016 (Apr 6, 2016 01:15 PM)Vipеr Wrote: Once you start living there you will get a hang of the parking time. I think it would have been more beneficial to slowly move my way into the city rather than go from living in a basic apartment complex in a smaller town to a literal 26 story building with minimal parking and no grass for miles lol. * - Heart - Apr 6, 2016 I've only ever lived in suburbs of major cities. * - [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅5̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] - Apr 6, 2016 (Apr 6, 2016 01:18 PM)$uicide Wrote: I've only ever lived in suburbs of major cities. Yeah, LOL. My problem isn't even really tourists. I guess I'm just not a fan of not being able to work on my car in my own space, have a dog that can actually use the bathroom outside in GRASS, etc. I don't think the metro city living is for me. I would gladly move back to the outskirts of town. * - Heart - Apr 6, 2016 (Apr 6, 2016 01:23 PM)[̲̅$̲̅(̲̅5̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] Wrote: Yeah, LOL. My problem isn't even really tourists. LOL that explains why I need to get the hell out of here. I haven't been single since 2012 and I have 3 cats. RIP. * - [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅5̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] - Apr 9, 2016 What are other people's inputs on living in a metropolitan area? * - Bluffer - Apr 9, 2016 I live in a city of around 80,000 people (so not very big) and I've lived here my whole life and I really don't like it here anymore. I'd like to move to a bigger city for a fresh start. |
