I have lived "downtown" of my city for about a year or so now.
I plan to move out of the city as soon as my lease for my apartment is up.
My biggest issue is parking- unfortunately my apartment does not have any remaining parking available as the parking garage used is completely filled.
I was just curious if any other people live in big/dense cities and what their opinion is of it? I've always wanted to live down here but it's really just too hectic for me.
I live in one, it's alright but the parking can get annoying and so can the neighbors depending where you are.

I live on the outskirts of a small-ish city (About 200,000 people)
Our parking is fine. Actually not too bad for a city.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
I life in a small town and always dreamed of living downtown in a big city and being surrounded by skyscrapers and having everything you need in walking distance.

Yeah. Parking is the biggest bitch. I hate paying for meters so I try to park in the un-metered areas. Unfortunately most of the ones closest to my apartment are always taken so I normally have to park about a block or two away.

Aw, you lucked out. I've lived on the outskirts of a big city as well... the city I'm living in actually. The parking wasn't nearly as bad as the "downtown" area.

Once you start living there you will get a hang of the parking time. You'll know when it usually is empty and when it really gets packed. Mine's open around 5pm and once it hits about 6 everything is full.

Yeah, my 12 month lease is actually up in June. I think it would have been more beneficial to slowly move my way into the city rather than go from living in a basic apartment complex in a smaller town to a literal 26 story building with minimal parking and no grass for miles lol.
I've only ever lived in suburbs of major cities.

That's where I'm headed back to 🤝

I like it better than major cities because honestly I hate tourists with a passion.

Yeah, LOL. My problem isn't even really tourists. I guess I'm just not a fan of not being able to work on my car in my own space, have a dog that can actually use the bathroom outside in GRASS, etc.
I don't think the metro city living is for me. I would gladly move back to the outskirts of town.

City living is for people who are single, maybe have a significant other and no pets.

LOL that explains why I need to get the hell out of here.
I haven't been single since 2012 and I have 3 cats. RIP.
What are other people's inputs on living in a metropolitan area?
I live in a city of around 80,000 people (so not very big) and I've lived here my whole life and I really don't like it here anymore.
I'd like to move to a bigger city for a fresh start.
Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.
