Rogue thread design progress - Method - Aug 25, 2016 So basically I found out my first attempt was pretty much rubbish. This is the last thread here I will be making for a while (due to not wanting to make spam threads). I would just post this in the other one, but I want a different type of feedback and hopefully this time I'll get the advice. 1st rubbish attempt: Spoiler (Click to View)
I would like to know what are some good fonts/icons to download or even backgrounds. I'm really knew to this so any help would be welcome. Anyway, to stay on topic here is my 2nd ever design. 2nd attempt:
Spoiler (Click to View) 3rd attempt: Spoiler (Click to View) 4th attempt: Spoiler (Click to View) 5th attempt: Spoiler (Click to View) 6th attempt: Spoiler (Click to View) I'll keep posting my material for you all to judge. Feel free to roast my ass as I'm new to this anyway. Thanks bruddas. * - Mαxim - Aug 25, 2016 First design has a little bit too little spacing and the second one has too much spacing. But you are def on a good way. One more thing to change is the font, you really need to find a new font to use. Try to Google "Ubuntu font" and see if that one would do better for you. Good luck * - Bαker - Aug 25, 2016 Here's are some suggestions I have, on the center move the font to align with the icon, Personally I dont like that font myself. Top header try and align that, my general suggestion is align the content, it makes it flow nicer in my opinion. * - Method - Aug 25, 2016 (Aug 25, 2016 08:32 AM)That Guy Maxim Wrote: First design has a little bit too little spacing and the second one has too much spacing. How do I cut the parts I no longer need? What I normally do is to use "Ctrl + T" (transform-tool? I think that is the shortcut key.) to resize the shape/image and then drag the following parts up. Then you have a large empty space in the bottom right? Make a new file with less height that works and then just drag all your layers/groups into the new file. * - Bαker - Aug 25, 2016 (Aug 25, 2016 08:42 AM)That Guy Maxim Wrote: What I normally do is to use "Ctrl + T" (transform-tool? Then you have a large empty space in the bottom right? Damn that sounds like a mission. Is there not anyway to just cut the excess parts? (Unneeded space) * - Mαxim - Aug 25, 2016 (Aug 25, 2016 08:45 AM)Roguе Wrote: Damn that sounds like a mission. Is there not anyway to just cut the excess parts? (Unneeded space) That is a good question.. Not sure to be honest. I use the method stated above, takes like 5 min hehe. Give it a shot or maybe you can ask someone from the free section to do it for you? * - Bαker - Aug 25, 2016 (Aug 25, 2016 08:45 AM)Roguе Wrote: Damn that sounds like a mission. Take your time that way you don't need to revise it a lot, is my going motto. * - Method - Aug 25, 2016 (Aug 25, 2016 08:48 AM)๖ۣۜMrDark Wrote: Nope, Designing is an art my friend and art shouldn't be rushed. It would make more sense taking a quick method over a long method that provide the same results. Thanks both of you though! * - Bαker - Aug 25, 2016 (Aug 25, 2016 08:51 AM)Roguе Wrote: Wouldn't necessarily call it rushing I would just call it a shortcut. Very true, the good thing about his method is you can resize multiple at once and very they are all the same and not off by a few pixels. Best of luck with OP you got this keep trying, as it's a skill not something you are born with 🤗🤝 * - Method - Aug 25, 2016 Playing around with styles n shit right now, it's actually pretty fun. Tomorrow when I'm not busy I'll download a load of icons, pictures and fonts. https://i.imgur.com/dknC0zu.jpg Just a new style I tested out. * - SaturnArts - Aug 25, 2016 You could check out my tutorial on Thread Designs in the graphics tutorial section. I'm sure it'll help you a lot. I plan on making more so keep an eye out. Of course learning is copying. I can share some icons with you as I got an account on Envato elements. It's what I always do. Short and simple. * - Elliot Alderson. - Aug 25, 2016 (Aug 25, 2016 09:28 AM)Roguе Wrote: Playing around with styles n shit right now, it's actually pretty fun. Keep consistent in the font and maybe make titles bold with better letter spacing or something, idk haha. * - Intern - Aug 25, 2016 First things off, that second design is a HUGE improvement ~ I think that you could downsize a little on the width because on my screen it's edge to edge and I don't know if you're trying to simulate a webpage but something about it feels restricting and it's just coming out to me violently :o I love your efforts I can't wait to see the revision ! |
