Looking to create a CTF crew - Fladrif - Nov 9, 2016 Hello everyone! After taking part in a few online CTFs on my own, it has become apparent that it's impossible to compete against teams of 3 or more people due to the fact that they can work on multiple targets whilst I am having to concentrate on one. So my solution: go to HF and a few other places and gather some like-minded people to form a casual CTF-ing team! My thoughts on the team:
I am not new to the pentesting game. If you think this is something you would be interested in then lets start a discussion. I think we probably need at most a ten person team to call on for a CTF, with a hope that 3 or 4 would be available to take part. Get in touch! ~/F * - sup3r_n0va - Nov 9, 2016 Yes I'm interested in joining your team Iām still a beginner , but i'm always looking to learn more and i have done some ctf's before by myself , not with much success though. * - Sajuuk - Nov 9, 2016 Joined today, first post today, creates group today. * - ffatsehtnahtretrams - Nov 9, 2016 What does CTF stand for? Is it an acronym or an abbreviation? * - Sajuuk - Nov 9, 2016 (Nov 9, 2016 02:15 PM)ffatsehtnahtretrams Wrote: What does CTF stand for? Well observed. Is that a problem? I specified that I came here for that very purpose... And to you other guys, once I've got my post count up I will PM you, thanks for expressing an interest, this could be fun! * - Kyle1995 - Nov 10, 2016 (Nov 10, 2016 11:30 AM)Fladrif Wrote: Well observed. It's not. Post count and echelon are in no way determinable accolades of experience. Not too many people on here that can actually hack, and I've never been a fan of CTF but best of luck with the group brother * - Travelers - Nov 10, 2016 Count me in. Still a beginner but not a certifiable newb either. I'll stay tuned in to this thread. š * - PoloGTIJaune2016 - Nov 11, 2016 I have some experience in linux day to day administration, some knowledge in hacking, so interested in this post. * - LittleBobbyTables - Nov 11, 2016 I already do too many, otherwise I would join you guys :( * - Fladrif - Nov 11, 2016 (Nov 11, 2016 11:05 AM)LittleBobbyTables Wrote: I already do too many, otherwise I would join you guys :( Yeah I have participated in quite a few now (I was in the hackthevote one which I think you said you were in too?), but working with a team is the next logical step for me. Thanks for the interest though, maybe in future if you would like to team up then please get in touch :) (Nov 11, 2016 10:58 AM)PoloGTIJaune2016 Wrote: I have some experience in linux day to day administration, some knowledge in hacking, so interested in this post. Sounds good - I've created an IRC channel ready to start a discussion once everyone who wants to get involved has expressed an interest! I'll PM those who have requested to get involved with the IRC details soon and lay down a plan of upcoming CTFs and how I can get in touch with people to organise their involvement or availability. Then we can decide peoples roles in the CTF - for example, a decent reverse engineer could have the support of a less experienced person who could be trying more automated testing and doing research on Google etc. * - exploit.c - Nov 12, 2016 I'll pitch in if needed. CTF are fun. |
