Is there something in windows ten that can get in the way of charging? - The Pact - Dec 8, 2016 My new Lenovo laptop that has windows 10 just says laptop pluged in but not charging and nothing I can do will make this go away. I am used to Windows 7 and 8 on my desktop. * - Dritz - Dec 8, 2016 How old is it, and are you using the original power adapter? * - The Pact - Jan 4, 2017 It was brand new. This issue turned out to be a Lenovo setting for old people that use their laptop like a desktop and leave it on the charger all the time killing the battery. They set it so you can only charge it to 59%. * - webdev77 - Jan 4, 2017 (Jan 4, 2017 12:25 AM)The Pact Wrote: It was brand new. They set it so you can only charge it to 59%. You can probably raise that number to 90%, but if you leave it plugged in all the time there is no reason to. * - The Pact - Jan 5, 2017 I bought it to use as a laptop not leave it plugged in all the time. * - webdev77 - Jan 5, 2017 (Jan 5, 2017 06:02 AM)The Pact Wrote: I bought it to use as a laptop not leave it plugged in all the time. Then change the setting. It's there to prevent your battery from being ruined. * - The Pact - Jan 5, 2017 Neither I or anyone at the shop I bought it from could figure out how to change the setting in the end they brought the technician in to figure it out. |
