Shopify VS Ebay / Amazon? - Reporter - Dec 20, 2016 Looking to start a store to get some extra income on the side of what I am doing, So shopify vs amazon or ebay, what is best? What attracts more users? * - @Jupiter - Dec 20, 2016 eBay is such a rape fest with their fees. Please stay away from that disease of a site. * - FiftyTwo - Dec 20, 2016 (Dec 20, 2016 10:19 AM)J U P I T E R Wrote: eBay is such a rape fest with their fees. Please stay away from that disease of a site. But if you'd rather not invest a lot into advertising, a domain, monthly Shopify fees and etc, then eBay is great. You don't really need advertising to sell something on eBay. * - @Jupiter - Dec 20, 2016 (Dec 20, 2016 10:21 AM)FiftyTwo Wrote: But if you'd rather not invest a lot into advertising, a domain, monthly Shopify fees and etc, then eBay is great. Now that you mention it you're right lol They ask too many questions if you're drop shipping. * - FiftyTwo - Dec 20, 2016 (Dec 20, 2016 10:24 AM)monster the god Wrote: Ebay has the worst fees known to man. Stay away from them at all costs. Reporting Posts Low Quality "Threads, posts, and characters in threads and posts that are non-contributive, are non-supportive, and are generally incoherent fall under this. This includes but is not limited to the following variations and instances: Avoiding character requirements in a post by adding empty characters, special characters that do not appear when posted, fillers, useless text (e.g. "35 char", "bump", "msg2short" or "tooshort") or a ridiculous amount of smileys to bypass the limit; Explicitly repeating what another user said; Posting of memes as an answer to the topic; The intentional use of broken English (e.g. Dolan Speak); Trolling; and Quoting posts without adding to them." You literally just reworded the last response, saying the same thing. * - Latinsnake - Dec 20, 2016 I was just about to make a video about that topic, here in short: eBay - you don't need to drive your own traffic (at least in theory, usually you still need to pay something to get prefered listings here and there - free Amazon - same as with eBay regarding traffic - you are pretty safe in terms of payments (you are not as helpless when it comes to chargebacks etc. as on eBay/PayPal) Shopify/Custom Store: - full control on customer experience - possibility to brand the whole store - follow your own rules in terms of product types, presentation etc. Even though Shopify requires more work (marketing!!!) its my favorite way to go. I have several thousands worth of stock in the Amazon warehouse because I also sell there, but I'm way more successful with my custom store(s). * - Trappy - Dec 20, 2016 Shopify seems the hardest but the best paying out in the long run ebay's easy though and idk about amazon. * - Eagerkid - Dec 20, 2016 I personally like ebay, and then I market to the customers I have already sold to and try to have them invoice payments to save on fees. * - Coon and Friends - Dec 20, 2016 (Dec 20, 2016 03:43 PM)ihopeshe18 Wrote: I personally like ebay, and then I market to the customers I have already sold to and try to have them invoice payments to save on fees. Do you follow up with new products, or the same but try and do without the E-bay process? * - Eagerkid - Dec 20, 2016 (Dec 20, 2016 03:59 PM)Coon and Friends Wrote: Do you follow up with new products, or the same but try and do without the E-bay process? I sell different items and then advertise to previous users based on items they have already purchased. So if they buy a pair of shoes, I will offer similar shoes to them |
