American or British English - BRΞNDΞN - Dec 26, 2016 As an American I tend to find our version of English a bit lazy. I much prefer the British version (THE OG VERSION) over ours. I tend to use American spelling online, but if given a choice I'd use British. I also love Brit slang. * - Trappy - Dec 26, 2016 British feels more formal and American casual, I don't prefer one over the other really but sometimes I spell my words with British spellings because it makes me feel smart. * - Wakka - Dec 26, 2016 Americans say Aluminium retarded. aluminum and colour too color and humour too humor and lots of others, ya'll retarded or somfin? * - BRΞNDΞN - Dec 26, 2016 (Dec 26, 2016 11:47 PM)Wakka Wrote: Americans say aluminum retarded. I love the Apple videos where the Brits say 'aluminium'. Sounds like some rare exotic metal from a different planet. 🎉 * - BRΞNDΞN - Dec 26, 2016 (Dec 26, 2016 11:47 PM)Λndrew Wrote: do you say z as zee or zed Zee. I'm an American so if I started saying shit like a Brit I'd get looked at like I'm retarded. Most Americans don't even know what a Zed is. * - Wakka - Dec 26, 2016 I added more to my OP just to show you how retarded Americans actually are. * - BRΞNDΞN - Dec 26, 2016 (Dec 26, 2016 11:52 PM)Wakka Wrote: I added more to my OP just to show you how retarded Americans actually are. We're not retarded, it's just we wanted to distance ourselves from the cancer that is Britain. * - Wakka - Dec 26, 2016 (Dec 26, 2016 11:53 PM)BRΞNDΞN Wrote: We're not retarded, it's just we wanted to distance ourselves from the cancer that is Britain. No argument here. But if we were to give proper credit to the original language then we'd have to call it West German-Scandinavian-French-Latin-Spanish-Old-Norman, etc, etc, etc. to give it proper credit. Although U.S. American English is lazier, it's simpler to understand vocally than, let's say, Northern England, and I believe some area near the south eatern area where it sounds like garbled drunk talk. Like mumbling with a mouthful while holding a smoking pipe in your mouth. * - BRΞNDΞN - Dec 27, 2016 (Dec 26, 2016 11:56 PM)Λndrew Wrote: Get your own language you yanks Nah. We're American. We steal everything. * - Brendan - Dec 27, 2016 (Dec 26, 2016 11:50 PM)BRΞNDΞN Wrote: Zee. Enough people act like they're British simply from watching Doctor Who, so an American speaking like a Brit wouldn't be the most abnormal thing, lol. * - BRΞNDΞN - Dec 27, 2016 (Dec 27, 2016 12:17 AM)Proctor Wrote: Enough people act like they're British simply from watching Doctor Who, so an American speaking like a Brit wouldn't be the most abnormal thing, lol. It's kind of sad how many people act like Brits because of Doctor Who. Britain isn't all that cool. Besides Football. Football is cool. |
