Member of the Month - Explained - funtela - Jan 4, 2017 ![]() Nomination The Nomination phase begins on the 20th of every month and ends on the second to last day of the month. A thread is created in the MOTM forum, in which all members have the privilege of nominating someone of their choice. They are allowed to nominate any member who fits the following requirements:
Members are allowed to ask others to nominate them (user X can ask user Y to nominate user X for a given month). All rules apply during this phase (e.g. securing/asking for votes during this phase will get you banned from the contest if brought to the light at any time, even if you're already on the poll). Selection The Selection phase occurs on the last day of the month. During this phase, Ryan Reynolds reviews every nominated member and selects the most qualified to be featured on the poll. Qualities that are looked for are:
During this phase, you cannot contact Ryan Reynolds in regards to who will be on the poll. Voting It's up to the community to decide who the winner is. On the 1st day of the following month, the Voting phase begins and a poll is created within the MOTM forum. The poll will contain, at most, 10 members who have been selected to be voted upon. You are not allowed to ask other members to vote for you. Members in the poll are not allowed to link to the poll at all; this is seen as hinting at or asking for votes. Any such attempts will get you permanently blacklisted from entering the contest and temporarily banned from the forum. Members who are not in the MOTM competition cannot ask for votes on nominees' behalves. Members cannot intentionally ask for votes on behalf of a nominee with the intention of forcing their disqualification or ban from the contest. Users who are guilty of this will receive forum warnings or bans. The nominees themselves, however, will not be reprimanded unless they instigated or asked other users to create such threads or content. If necessary, Administrators may become involved to verify private messages or deleted content. Members cannot use on-site or off-site media (private messages, public threads or group forums) to ask for votes, either on their own or on someone else's behalf. Members cannot advertise nor link to the MOTM competition in their signature if they are in the competition. Other members can link to the poll thread (in signatures, avatars, usertitles or posts), but they are not allowed to advertise nor harm another member in doing so. Links to the poll thread must link to the OP, and not to another post supporting or detracting from a nominee. Other users cannot create threads (public or private) to encourage voting for another member. Users are not allowed to spam chat services or lounge threads to get people to vote for a given user. The member that receives the most votes by the 7th day of the month is the official winner and will be granted the MOTM award, along with a new page as a notable member on the Hack Forums Wiki. Any further questions regarding MOTM may be directed towards Ryan Reynolds. Rules All of the below rules apply throughout the entire duration of the contest (20th - 7th), which includes every phase. Many of these rules have been stated above, but have been written in the form of a list so that they are easier to understand and can be referred to when someone has a question.
Below you will find the most frequently asked questions. Please read them. If your question is not answered here or anywhere else in this thread, send a PM to Ryan Reynolds.

Not sure if that was intentional or not. It wasn't intentional. Most of the information is the same as the old MOTM - Explained thread. I'll gladly list Froggy with the permission of Omni though. I'm not sure if to list her since her account is closed. * - Mom - Jan 4, 2017 I'm very excited with this return of MOTM. * - @Jupiter - Jan 4, 2017 This is going to be like the election, the whole forums voting for one nigga and the electors vote for someone else so they catch. Not that I'm complaining. Nonetheless I like it like this because user votes were generally.... fraudulent I guess. With candidates telling other people to vote for them despite not doing anything. Whoopeedooo cool beans * - Mr. Robot - Jan 4, 2017 Wow this is awesome to see back dude - looks like you put plenty of effort into the thread too, ouch. * - funtela - Jan 4, 2017 (Jan 4, 2017 07:43 PM)Mr. Robot Wrote: Wow this is awesome to see back dude - looks like you put plenty of effort into the thread too, ouch. Most of the info was copied from the old thread. I just changed a few things since most of the same rules still apply. |
