Blizzard Wants $8.5 Million Copyright Damages From Cheat Maker - Lufasu - Mar 16, 2017

As I stick to my other thread -

I see that companies started to take action??

Quote:Blizzard Entertainment has filed a motion for default judgment against Bossland, the maker of several popular game cheats and hacks. The game developer requests the minimum statutory copyright damages of $200 per infringement, arguing that the cheat maker sold at least 42,818 of its hacks in the U.S.

Blizzard is known for suing cheat developers

Surely this was to be expected

Theyve never joked around especially because they've got money up the ass and can easily call out lawyers

Since Riot Games won that case there may have been a precedent set that will make this easier although honestly I don't know if there's a long history of Game Devs suing cheat developers. That was the first I heard of it

People should just stop making cheats for blizzard games, it doesn't seem to be going well for them. $8.5 mil? He's gonna die with that debt.

As soon as there was a legal battle, realistically it wasn't going to end well for Bossland.

What is 8.5mill to Blizzard? (everything else included too) a matter of days worth of money? They can sink bossland just by outlasting them in the legal battle.

So they made 63k$ profit if they didn't spend the money tho.
I guess they spend most of the moeny so its still a HUGE debt for them.

I kind of wish that Valve follows Blizzard's lead and takes down some cheat providers.

All it takes is one check to be written to the legal team and it can be considered done. 🤝
