Gauth 2FA security feature - infomationss1 - Jun 7, 2017 Dear All, please i would like to know if its necessary or if its a must to activate Gauth 2FA security feature on my account. This is because, i have lost access to my previous account after when i lost my phone, due to this reason, i do not want to activate this Gauth 2FA security feature anymore. Your suggestion would be highly appreciated. Thanks * - TB12 - Jun 7, 2017 Not a requirement but it is highly recommended * - Mαxim - Jun 7, 2017 No, it is not required. However, just because your losing your phone doesn't mean that you are doomed. You still have a backup key and the possibility to recover your 2FA account. * - infomationss1 - Jun 7, 2017 (Jun 7, 2017 08:28 AM)Excavated Wrote: Not a requirement but it is highly recommended I lost my old account due to this same Gauth 2FA security feature after when i lost my mobile, to prevent same thing from happening again, i think i have to overlook the feature since its not a must to activate it. * - TB12 - Jun 7, 2017 (Jun 7, 2017 08:32 AM)infomationss1 Wrote: I lost my old account due to this same Gauth 2FA security feature after when i lost my mobile, to prevent same thing from happening again, i think i have to overlook the feature since its not a must to activate it. What 2 factor app did you use? Authy should allow you to avoid that issue. * - infomationss1 - Jun 7, 2017 (Jun 7, 2017 08:31 AM)Maxim Wrote: No, it is not required. Thanks mate, but i think i have to let it be like that. (Jun 7, 2017 08:33 AM)Excavated Wrote: What 2 factor app did you use? Authy should allow you to avoid that issue. Yes, i used Authy... Use a backup key? Lol * - Vitani - Jun 7, 2017 It is not required but it is strongly recommended. If you use authy you'll always have access even if you lost access to your phone. * - Phire - Jun 8, 2017 There's also an Authy extension for Chrome (if you use it) which means you can access your 2FA without your phone. * - Charger - Jun 8, 2017 If you don't and your account is lost or stolen then Omni closes it. |
