Arch Pacman -Syu Error (Conflicting Files) - -Mr Mesmer - Jun 13, 2017 4.11.2-1-ARCH Attempting to run : Code sudo pacman -SyuReturning : https://pastebin.com/RH2ZWK6N After taking a look at the error you'll notice that the problem is conflicting files. In this case I'm able to simply delete the files preventing the update with the following Code sudo rm -R /path/to/fileHowever is this really a viable solution? What if I needed the files that were causing the conflict? * - SuckySucky - Jun 13, 2017 No, do not manually remove individual files from the system in that manner. It will lead to issues in the long run. The arch wiki has information about how to tackle this issue.. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pacman#.22Failed_to_commit_transaction_.28conflicting_files.29.22_error * - -Mr Mesmer - Jun 13, 2017 https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pacman#.22Failed_to_commit_transaction_.28conflicting_files.29.22_error Thanks. |
