yesterday, I was going 85-90 on a big wide 5 lane road with a speed limit of 55, anyways after glancing at my mirror I noticed a state trooper trying to catch up maybe a half a mile away, he was probably hiding somewhere.
Already having over 8 tickets on my record I decide to floor it as he was still very far behind and still did not have his lights on.
I was able to get some distance and take a turn on a light and floor it again, but the traffic botched up and he already had his lights and sirens when he finally caught up.
We talked a bit, he asked me why I tried to outrun him, I told him I did not, that I just simply never saw him up until when he was up on my tail.
Cop was actually nice but very serious, after a bit he asked if he could search my car and I said go ahead let me even open up the trunk for you, and after doing a quick search he found some brass knuckles with a retractable knife under the passenger seat.
I replied "I know this is the most used line, and its very cliche, but that is not mine, I actually was aware they where there for like 8 months already but someone left them there, and I never got around to doing anything about them with them"
He then told me how in Texas its a felony, he then put them in a ziplock bag.
and I knew I was fucked, im not sure why I was already going to call to get my car picked up, because I knew I was getting arrested and he was like hold on, he made a call on his phone and talked for around 2 minutes and he just told me, im just going to give you a ticket for what I clocked you at 89 on a 55
And failure to signal when doing all those lane changes cutting trough traffic trying to outrun me.
He put the knuckles back in the car and said just keep those off the streets throw them away or something.
for a shorter version I basically dogged a felony that would have been a mis-understanding and was thankful the cop was nice enough to let that slide even after the bullshit I tried to do.

My question is, what road in Texas has five lanes with a limit of 55??? What county were you in, because I lived in Dallas, Houston, and Austin and all had limits of 70+. With that said, if you're not going 85+ in Texas, you'd end up being drove off the road by the other drivers.
Word of advice after living in Texas for most of my life, invest in a radar detector. I bought one, and never got a ticket again. It has saved my ass multiple times, points where I probably would have gotten arrested. $80 on Amazon has saved me thousands. It's damn near useless here in Tampa Bay due to slow ass tourists, however I still keep it running for those 2am, 120+ speeds.

Well not 5 lanes just a two lanes on each side, and a middle turning lane, so I call it a 5 lane even though it really is not a 5 lane.
Also have a speeding ticket from last month, 95 on a 65 its still not even online to pay it smh

Ahh, that makes more sense now. No matter what, you always got to be on the look out for state troopers as well as motorcycle cops. Both love to sit and use lasers, which a detector can't pick up fast enough. The prices of tickets don't really matter to me as I can afford it, but when they start striking your license and you're one ticket away from getting it revoked, it's tough.

This is the evidence picture of the knuckle duster with retractable knife I had in my car when I was stopped last year. Recently went through the courts for having this and a SHIT TON of weapons and drugs in my car.
I managed to wriggle my way out of the possession charges as most of the items really weren't mine. I knew they were there though.
Just went to court earlier this month. Got 100 hrs community service and 6pm-6am curfew for 3mnths. Have no idea why the judge was so lenient, some of the weapons were nasty.

I feel the same way I can afford to pay them but, I have a feeling this was the last ticket to get my license revoked, I havent talked to a judge or anything I always just pay the tickets, do you get a sort of warning before?
I really dont want to loose my license im sure I have a shitload of points tacked on
For this year id say with this last ticket id have around 8-12 points
Looks like over 6-8 in a year is enough to get license suspended.

If this had happened in the UK, you'd be looking at a suspended sentence or an electronic tag regardless of priors or not, so congrats on not getting a serious felony there bud!

Stores can sell crazy ass weapons, specifically like in tenesse and southern states. I always frequented stores like " China Bazaar" down there they had all kinds of weapons, that are illegal in my state, such as switch blades.

in all honesty, yes I was very very glad to have gotten off the hook with just a ticket, Im not sure who he called or for what reason, but like I said im just glad I dogged that one.
