Could someone help me build a simple discord bot that will fetch data from API? - miserego - Jul 19, 2017 [I'm editing the whole post so I can be much clearer this time] Is there someone willing to help me build a really simple discord bot for my server? I just want it to read the available balance of given cryptocurrency on given exchange and return it on the chat. It will fetch this simple data from the API (every cryptocurrency exchange has its own API). The problem is I'm mostly a noob on coding and building discord bots gets pretty confusing even for something so simple. Is there anyone willing to guide/help me with this? Thanks * - tcsh - Jul 19, 2017 By reading the documentation provided by the respective API. * - miserego - Jul 19, 2017 Yeah. Is there an easy way to fetch this data? Let's just say I'm an almost complete noob. * - Riԁdle - Jul 19, 2017 you would use the Requests module and most likely the json module if the API is returning json. post back here if you need help ill look at the thread every once in a while. * - tcsh - Jul 19, 2017 (Jul 19, 2017 08:31 AM)miserego Wrote: Yeah. Provide the exchanges you are thinking about and possibly link their API documentations, we can then give you concrete examples. We can't read your mind as to what APIs you are planning to use. * - vercenta - Jul 19, 2017 Create a HTTP request and parse the data * - koolkid - Jul 19, 2017 what is it that you want exactly? do you want the data to be stored in a file on your desktop ?? how often ? every day ? once a week ? I can assist you in writing a Python application for this * - miserego - Jul 19, 2017 I completely edited the post with much clearer explanation to my problem * - koolkid - Jul 20, 2017 (Jul 19, 2017 12:40 PM)miserego Wrote: I completely edited the post with much clearer explanation to my problem okay kool there take a look at that, it should help you. * - qow. - Jul 20, 2017 (Jul 20, 2017 11:20 PM)qow. People respond super fast and they will teach you better than anyone else because they are the people who helped make the python api. https://#/discord-api Also if you still need help kik me @average.ly or pm me on discord @qow#1327 * - Riԁdle - Jul 21, 2017 I might be able to help you with the API for the cryptocurrency if you need that. |
