Is there someone willing to help me build a really simple discord bot for my server? I just want it to read the available balance of given cryptocurrency on given exchange and return it on the chat. It will fetch this simple data from the API (every cryptocurrency exchange has its own API).

The problem is I'm mostly a noob on coding and building discord bots gets pretty confusing even for something so simple. Is there anyone willing to guide/help me with this?

you would use the Requests module and most likely the json module if the API is returning json. post back here if you need help ill look at the thread every once in a while.

Provide the exchanges you are thinking about and possibly link their API documentations, we can then give you concrete examples.
We can't read your mind as to what APIs you are planning to use.

what is it that you want exactly? do you want the data to be stored in a file on your desktop ?? how often ? every day ? once a week ?

I'm not sure if I should be posting this here but, to my limited knowledge, python is a good language to use apis on.

I want to be able to fetch some data through api from cryptocurrency exchanges. I'm not sure if this is easier to get done on a simple application or through a site or even through a terminal.
Specifically I'd like to just be able to check holdings (of cryptocurrencies). I don't care about withdrawals and trading through this.

What should I do/use?

You can join the (unofficial) discord API server that discord actually has linked on its website and stuff. People respond super fast and they will teach you better than anyone else because they are the people who helped make the python api. https://#/discord-api
