Killed me with this haha. Have you tried uploading it through FTP ? Sometimes the PHP configuration of the server has php_max_size and other factors that make it hard to upload your theme through the WP panel.
Check https://envato.com/blog/install-themeforest-wordpress-theme/ it answers most questions.
Double posting because I just remembered that the Jetpack plugin can cause these issues. It's a compatibility problem.
