Most logical (IF the admin isnt a total baka) is separated either by a subnet or a fysical net.
You locking for cameras, shodan is a good start

I always find this to be a good exploit for some cams. The //proc/kcore exploit.

This worked on the security cameras at my home, it was set up by my father and I now have the ability to turn some on and off lol

Better fix the exploit then or disable internet access, otherwise other "people" will have access to your home network.

Reading the manual and using finding the hardcoded password can be the way quite often.
