Dual boot W7 / Kali = fail - kliv-o - Apr 21, 2018 Hey, I got a problem with by dual boot. So basically I tried to install Kali "beside" Windows 7. I created a new partition, during installation I set the swap etc etc, but when I try to lunch Kali, the boot kinda crash after trying to launch /script/local-block like 10/15 times and then this messages appears : Quote:Gave up waiting for root file system device. I checked the boot menu : I can't boot on recovery mode (same message appears), and the boot "code" itself seems to have the correct infos about the sdb3 and stuff.. Windows starts normally. I already installed Ubuntu and Debian before, but not on dual-boot and not this PC. This is the first time that I see this error and I don't found any solution yet. Can anyone help a young dual-boot noob ? RE: Dual boot W7 / Kali = fail - webdev77 - Apr 21, 2018 It's far easier if you just switch to Windows 10 and the latest version of Kali so that way you don't need to screw around with legacy boot. Full UEFI support with secure boot is enabled for Kali so you can just switch OSs by going into your bios and picking which one you want to boot up. Yeah I heard that the dual-boot set-up is easier with W10, I think that I will install it soon, but anyone know if there is anything I can do right now, with W7 ? |
