Unlocking an iPhone?? - Manhattans - May 7, 2018

Is it possible to unlock an iPhone from a carrier? I have an iPhone I own but verizon won’t unlock it from their network. Anyway to get around this or do I just have an expensive paper weight now?

As far as I know you can get your phone to a local phone repair service and get it fixed there.
Or you need to contact Verizon to ask if they want to unblock the IMEI number if I'm correct.

There are a few services on here that unlock it for you I believe. I've seen a couple. You can definitely get it unlocked though.

You will probably need to pay Verizon a fee to unlock it. This is one of the many reasons I'll never go back to them. Such terrible business practices.

local repair stores usually do this, around like $40-70 when I last checked depending on carrier/phone model.

You can get it unlocked by going around the company, just make sure that you aren't getting ripped off, and that the person knows what they are doing.

What model Iphone do you have?

I have two iphone 7 from Verizon and they are not locked.
I gave one to my nephew while he is in school in LA and he was able to change the sim card.

You should be able to change the sim card to any carrier.

When Verizon bought the 700Mhz LTE spectrum, certain stipulations were put in to place, one of which stated that Verizon LTE devices must be unlocked.
