Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - reg.tty - Jun 18, 2018 Hello, In noob language, can someone tell me the difference between a RAT and a BOTNET Thanks RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - Vonful - Jun 18, 2018 Hard question. I'll try my best to explain tho. I think BOTNET: is focused on holding loads of clients at once, so they tend to be more stable. Also they tend to do less as they are just for ddosing, loads (running an exe on all of them), and other things like smtp hosts, sms bombing, etc. RAT: Focuses on controlling a handful of people with extra features. Sometimes can have features of a botnet but tend to be less stable. Basically RAT is built for surveillance and botnet is for holding and using multiple compromised devices. RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - reg.tty - Jun 18, 2018 Thanks. I need more replies and explanations from other members RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - Exodus - Jun 18, 2018 There is no need to post the same thread in 2 different sections. RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - int - Jun 18, 2018 from my experience: botnet is mainly http, widespread spreading rat is mainly tcp/udp, targetted spreading RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - Vonful - Jun 18, 2018 (Jun 18, 2018 12:41 PM)Jukeboxhook Wrote: from my experience: vouch RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - inyourmemory - Jun 18, 2018 (Jun 18, 2018 12:45 PM)Int Ptr Wrote: They're technically the same thing. no RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - thales - Jun 18, 2018 A rat is an executable program (whether hidden or not) that basically gives the installer access to the machine if ran. A botnet is a network of infected computers of which you can use for a multitude of purposes. This is the second post you've replied with this to. If you're not going to add anything to the conversation or help explain just fuck off RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - DeoShaggas - Jun 19, 2018 Botnets are also used for targetting advertising to the infected machine, not just Ddosing. RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - Kid's - Jun 20, 2018 Can you use a botnet to create proxies? Socks5 RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - drexlerstone - Aug 6, 2018 Biggest difference botnet is http and the rat is mostly targetted. RE: Difference Between a Botnet and a RAT - OfficialLemon - Aug 6, 2018 Botnet: Focused on holding a lot more clients at once, and tend to have fewer features. Mostly used to send DDoS attacks. RAT: Focused on holding fewer clients but with a lot more features, a rat can sometimes do the same stuff as a botnet would, but they are usually very unstable while holding a lot of clients. Hope this helps, tried my best explaining |
